gRPC [Golang] Master Class: Build Modern API & Microservices (Udemy.com)

The course is not up to date, there are a few deprecations (I am using go1.25). I would like to also see a ide config for compiling protobufs alongside the manual approach with the terminal and makefile (I've setup mine to autocompile on save and it works great but it took a little trial and error). I really like the classroom approach, you first lay the foundation and theory with an example and after that the student needs to implement the same mechanism but different logic, very nice!

This is a really good course, the explanations were simple, direct and understandable. The exercises made it easier to grasp the concepts and put it in practice. My only suggestion would be to update the section 4 for the project setup, as the gRPC code generation methods have changed since what's shown on the course, specially the CLI tool. Nonetheless, a really good course and highly recommended! :)

The instructor is very knowledgeable and explains the content clearly and in depth. gRPC is constantly under develop and as such much of the examples provided do NOT work out of the gateway. It took me some research to get all the examples working. Even though it was good for me (got me up to speed with latest changes) it might be hard for someone getting started. All and all very good content.

It was a good experience. It's a very good course for beginners to understand both the basics and also complicated concepts of gRPC. Instructor explains everything step by step, so its easy to focus on one thing, gRPC has many concepts not easily understood. I totally understand that you later i find that some codes are outdated, but Stephane did his best to update the code. And for someone like me that's unfamiliar with Protobuf, gRPC things, he's an excellent instructor with an excellent courses. Started with theory and many hands-on, making hard concepts easily understand for a beginner like me. Keep it up. Thanks Stephane

Excellent course, with an excellent instructor. Rather short but strictly on point. A walkthrough of many essential parts of building grpc routines for a client-server. Unfortunately the APIs to MongoDB has changed since the course was made, which caused some frustration, but other than that, an almost perfect course. As a side effect I also switched from sublime to Visual Studio. I find the tracking of imports very convenient in VS.

Good one, but as anything related to technology needs an update. At this moment (July 2020) I had a really hard time getting code working on Ubuntu 20.04 (new protoc version and golang options). I will appreciate if the instructor at least gives some hints in questions what is required to get things working.

Stephane is easy to follow and I highly recommend his courses. I learned a lot about gRPC (including watching his Protocol Buffer course which I completed before this course). When I went through this course, the gRPC libraries were updated so it was a little hard to follow in some sections but I made it through (I believe it's been updated since though). He's very good at explaining the concepts and the hands-on labs are very helpful.

This in-depth course on gRPC using Golang is well designed, contains great content and is well supported by its instructor, Stephane Maarek. Just completed this course after taking Stephane's excellent course on Protocol Buffers 3. Both courses were of the highest quality and because of this, I plan to take additional courses taught by Stephane Maarek, among his many offerings, on the Udemy platform. I highly recommend taking this course!
