Course Description
gRPC is a new and modern framework for building scalable, modern and fast API. It is leveraged by many top tech companies such as Google, Square & Netflix and enables programmers to write micro-services in any language they want while keeping the ability to easily create communications between these services. It relies on Protocol Buffers for the transport mechanism and Service Definition language.
In this course, we are going to explore in depth, with hands-on lectures, all the aspects to get started with gRPC
This course is hands-on and you will implement two services: Greet and a Calculator Service
In just a few hours, you will know everything you need to know to write your .proto files, generate code in your Favourite Programming, and implement your services, servers and client in Java. There will be plenty of hands-on lectures and exercises for you to practice your newly acquired skills.
It's time to say goodbye to slow and clunky REST API, and opt-in for a better API framework
gRPC Java Master Class is the best way to get a great overview of all the possibilities offered by gRPC with your favourite language

This is a decent course on gRPC. I got the course engaging and explanation clear and interesting. The only thing I wanted more is getting some more complex examples, like in the 2nd last lecture google github of pubsub having some complex messages. But I am expecting these kind of complex examples of messages and services to be found in protobuf course which I bought already.

The course brings the idea of grpc to fruition. The theory is well explained. However, what lacks is the explanation of the actual implementation used. Why are we doing it like this; there's no answer for it. Just cram the code is what I got in the latter part of the course. Moreover, this is a very basic course. I expected some real world usage project.

I have taken two courses by Stephane Maarek so far (Kafka and gRPC+Java) . I feel great after watching all of his lectures and tried all the exercise. Thanks Stephane. I can't wait to enroll in your other courses soon. I highly recommend Stephan's all the courses as I bet you will learn something new out of his courses for sure.

This was really a cool course which provides something really useful and new as it helps to understand new technology over RestFul services. The concept was build gradually and by the end of it you get lot of confidence. The lectures on security using openSSL was too good. Also, this course introduced MongoDB for it's blog example with CRUD operations which again is added benefit as you get idea about new technologies. Great job. As suggestion, if one demo example can be shown with server and client running on different machines would be great added value.

It was excited to learn an unexplored but powerful concept and who better than Stephen to learn it with. He's an amazing tutor with impeccable teaching skills to keep us glued to such complex made simple technologies. His clarity of concepts , progression of various topics and hands-on example selection makes learning experience an engaging affair and enjoyable journey. I would highly recommend it for folks who desire to explore unearthed technologies and leverage it for betterment of tech ecosystem. Finally, I would like to thanks Stephen for contributing in special way to grace technology community with amazing sessions.

I have learnt a great deal of information during this course that is relevant to my current job. Now I am more confident at work that I understand the basics of grpc. I can see that the instructor is super passionate about teaching and h puts a great deal of effort into these courses. I love the fact that he leaves errors in so that it shows how debugging can be done in real life scenarios when things do not go as planned. Also showing resources of where to find things online and where to go to find code samples of how to set things up is a bonus rather than just typing everything out. This gives the students the understanding of where to go for information and how to start using documentation to build on the elements of this course to expand and incorporate the knowledge into other projects.

Stephane is an excellent instructor / teacher. His way of going about the content, it's layout, break-down by topics which are small and focussed helped a lot. I liked the way he went out of the way to explain certain things which are actually needed for someone to understand better / get a deeper understanding of the topic / hands-on. He is very thorough and makes sure that he has captured all details of why and what. His hands on are excellent and he covers them with such ease! Going through this course for me was a wonderful experience and I believe that I have learnt gRPC (or have got the right kick-start) that I wanted to make it big with it.

This course is for beginners but is listed for intermediate or expert. From my opinion title "Master" is wrong. Teacher is good but for master he should skip DB installation / simple CRUD examples, some basic staff or at least pass through very fast and pay attention more on security, real live examples and challenges in real world projects (what is expect for "master").

Really great course! It contains all that you needed to start with. Examples are quite representative and the course flow is very good. The whole course is short and at the same is very informative. This is exactly what I've expected from the course. Strongly recommend for those who want to understand the main idea of gRPC and to try it by yourself. Course contains examples, assignments for implementing it by yourself as well as showing you how instructor is doing it by himself. Thanks, Staphane! That was really very useful and fun! Suggestion: that would be awesome if the chapter for gRPC gateway will also be included! Hope it will be added later...

I enrolled to Stephane's both gRPC Java, Protocol Buffers courses. Although I had prior experience with both of these technologies at work, it was only due to these courses that I understood the fundamentals. It has helped me profoundly in the newest project I was specially selected to engage in. The team was happy, so did I. Hence, I would like to say a big Thank You to Stephane, while recommending both of these courses to anyone who have intentions to master the subject.
