Course Description
Practice makes perfect. Start your journey into becoming a professional front end web developer here!
At DigiFisk, we like making learning fun. Our courses are interactive and fun with a ton of practical elements to it. We've decided to take it a step further with our Web application development practice series.
Once you learn the syntax of a programming language, the next logical step is to start creating software and apps. But that's where most students get stuck. Problem solving isn't as easy as learning a bunch of syntaxes.
But we aim to make it easy for you.
What will you learn in this course?
In this course, you'll learn how to build your own Calculator web app from the ground up with just HTML5, CSS and Javascript in less than an hour..
You'll learn:
1. How to create the HTML5 structures of an app.
2. How to make an app pretty with CSS (design, design, design!)
and last but never the least
3. How to make an app work (solve problems) with logic, i.e Javascript
By the end of the course, you'll be one stop closer to creating web apps like a pro. You could even try creating other smaller web apps.
How is this course designed?
I've made this course as easy to understand as possible. I've structured it in such a way that each section will handle one of the 3 languages covered here.
Introduction: This is where I'll explain how the app works, and what we'll be using to achieve the same results.
Module 1: I'll be teaching you how to create the bare bones of the app with HTML5. The result will be a page with all the elements we need in our app, devoid any colors or design elements.
Module 2: Here, we'll "beautify" our app. We'll be using CSS elements to give our app colors and styles. At the end of this module, we'll have a calculator app that looks like the final result, albeit one that does not perform any calculations yet.
Module 3: This would be the meat of the course. We'll be delving into Javascript in this module, and I'll teach you how to make the app work (perform calculations and display the results) in here.
Final section: Finally, I'll give you some ideas on how to improve the app and make it your own in terms of design and functionalities.
This course is for you if:
1. If you like learning by doing rather than hours of boring theoretical lectures.
2. If you have the passion for programming, and if you know the basics of at least HTML5 and CSS, this course will take you one step further in your development skills.
3. If you're a complete newbie, don't worry. I'll be explaining every single line of code I'll be using in this course, so you won't feel lost.
So, what are you waiting for? Get this course today, and begin your journey into the wonderful world of web development!

A very good introduction to using Javascript with HTML5 and CSS3. The instructor is enthusiastic, but comes across very clear. The course is ideal for anyone taking their 1st steps into learning Javascript.
By Kevin Rad on 12/1/2018
so far so good. Would be nice to have a little cheatsheet/handout summerizing javascript concepts being covered.
By Krishna K R on 1/18/2018
Probably could have elaborated on the calculation part rather than using inbuilt function eval(). This will help in more understanding. Other than that the instructor was excellent with pace n teaching. Keep up the good work!
By Ivan Yosifov on 8/25/2017
Nice course but the eval() function does all the heavy lifting. I was expecting that we would write our own function that parses the input expression and calculates the result. Keep up the good work!

I have been through many courses in udemy and often found myself confused and lost midway through the courses as lecturer left many concepts unexplained. But this course is different, firstly due to the passion shown by the instructor who is also a great teacher and also the way it is explained all clearly. The instructor leads you by the hand, so if ur a beginner and have a fear of coding i would highly recommend you take this course, it will give you the confidence to take your knowledge to next level.

Thorough and it's easy to learn from her teaching! The only problem that I have is the obtrusive JavaScript. The inline HTML onclick() event handler is considered bad practice. .addEventListener would better help beginners write good production code. I'm now having to redo this project.

This course is awesome! You won't be building an exciting top-notch brandnew killer app per se, but coding this nice calculator in a fun environment will help you brush onto your HTML, CSS and JS skills! Like Aarthi says, you improve (or refresh) your coding skills by DOING. In addition, Aarthi's voice is friendly, caring, great course! Looking forward to getting some more! Hat's off to you Miss! :)

Excellent. Just a point, it would have been a nice touch to be able to view the original layout as changes were made on screen; but I am really nit picking. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and learnt a great deal. Thank You.

A very beginner friendly course which teaches all the basics of HTML,CSS and finally javascript to build the app. The instructor is very knowledgeable, communicates very well in the videos and answered my few questions that I asked about javascript functions . Highly recommended!

Course clearly spoken, brilliantly organised, well presented; with every single line of code being fully explained in depth; so that even a total 'beginner' can get understand it. The frequent quizzes are used to both remind/and, further reinforce the student's learning. The resulting end app. both looks 'beautiful'/and, far more importantly, 'works'! You are also given the code to download if you wish; just in case, you ever get stuck. There are suggestions on how it's possible to expand on this app. entirely to suit yourself. Obviously, the author is knowledgeable; and, skilled -( would say, 'gifted')- at teaching. My deepest regret is that she needs to create a lot more courses...which would enable others -like me- to be able to follow along; but, when I attempted to search to discover seeing her other courses...this 'one' course is all that I found; at least, so far to date: 26th April 2017. Very kindly, keep them coming, please... ;-)
