Learn Manual Software Testing + Agile with Jira Tool (Udemy.com)

Manual Testing, STLC, Agile, Jira, e-Commerce Project

Created by: Pavan Kumar

Last updated February 2024

Our take

Based on the ratings of 18,251 students and a sample of their written reviews, the syllabus, the course as of February 2024. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is a beginner's manual testing course from Pavan Kumar, the instructor behind the SDET-QA YouTube channel. It runs about 23 hours across only 16 lectures, so expect long, lecture-style sessions rather than bite-sized videos. The syllabus shows three parts: testing concepts and the STLC, a mock e-commerce project where you write and run test cases and log bugs, then Agile and Scrum with Jira and the Zephyr plugin. The audience list is clear: fresh graduates and non-IT people who want a first QA job. Basic computer skills are the only requirement.

Reviewers like the teaching most. One says Kumar takes his time on each concept and recaps at the end of the section, several praise the simple, clear explanations, and one now feels confident in her manual testing and Jira skills. With more than 18,000 reviews and a 4.6 rating, the criticism is thin, but it is real. One student found the downloadable notes less detailed than the slides. Another called it good but wished it were more interactive, which fits the data: there are no quizzes, assignments, or practice tests, just video. The last update was February 2024, so the Jira screens may not match what is live today.

Next to the ISTQB prep and the 2026 bootcamp listed alongside it, this one is narrower. It won't get you an exam certificate, and it doesn't touch automation. Where it earns its place is the project and Jira walkthrough, which is what a first QA interview tends to ask about. If the goal is a job-ready feel for how testing actually works day to day, it's a solid pick.

Best forFresh graduates and career changers who want a first QA job and need to see test cases, bug reports, and Jira in practice.
Skip it ifYou want ISTQB exam prep, automation tools, or short lectures with quizzes to check your progress.

Pros

  • Slow, clear explanations that reviewers praise, with an end-of-section recap one student singles out.
  • A mock e-commerce project covers writing test cases, executing them, and logging bugs end to end.
  • Jira and Zephyr walkthrough shows sprints, user stories, and test cycles the way teams actually use them.
  • Only basic computer skills required; 66,000 students and a 4.6 rating from over 18,000 reviews.

Cons

  • Just 16 lectures for 23 hours, so single videos can run well over an hour.
  • No quizzes, assignments, or practice tests; one reviewer called it good but not interactive enough.
  • Downloadable notes are thinner than the slides, and the last update was February 2024.
Pawan Sir is an exceptional instructor who breaks down concepts into simple, easy-to-understand lessons.

Listed as all levels, but it's really for absolute beginners; anyone with QA experience will find the concepts familiar.

I am currently taking your Manual Testing course on Udemy, and I wanted to take a moment to share my sincere appreciation for the quality of your teaching. From the very beginning of the course, I noticed how clearly you explain every concept. Your delivery is smooth, structured, and very easy to follow, even for someone who is new to the subject. What I really like about your teaching style is how you break down complex testing concepts into simple, understandable parts. You use practical examples that make the topics more relatable and help me connect theory with real-time scenarios. Your pace is perfect—not too fast, not too slow—and it gives learners enough time to absorb the information. I also appreciate your attention to detail. You explain not just the “what,” but also the “why” behind every testing practice. This gives a deeper understanding of the subject and builds strong foundational knowledge. The course content is well-organized, and each module feels thoughtfully prepared. Overall, I am genuinely enjoying the course and learning a lot. Thank you so much sir for putting your time, effort, and passion into creating this amazing learning experience. It has already made a positive impact on my understanding of software testing, and I’m excited to continue learning from you.
