Learn SQL Using PostgreSQL: From Zero to Hero (Udemy.com)

I had some database experience, but I want to learn more concepts and with postgres. This class covered indexing, explain, window functions like rank(), and PostGIS--concepts I wanted to learn more about. Instructor is clear and gives examples of how different concepts were used in his business.

Complete course with lot of exercises. Useful having tests for the basic concepts from the start. Only bad point is when interacting with cmd because of different commands. Furthermore, the struggling part was importing a csv because of the format. Maybe a supported file from the lecturer would have been better to avoid incompatibilities due to different files versions or something else.

This lecture is really good starting point for anyone who like to know about PostgreSQL. I can really see that great effort has been put into creating this course, especially adding all the respective resources which you find rarely find in other courses! One thing that should be improved is the quality of the audio, it's difficult to understand author at times due to poor quality, otherwise this is a good one!

Not bad before approx section 20. The lecturer goes through basic syntax only but has NO elaboration(No details, definitions, comparisons of SQL jargon). For example, in the Trigger section, no explanation of what is SQL trigger? Why we need it? Instead, just introduces syntax... For the functions part, what is the difference between the SQL language function and the Plpgsql function? There are so many questions left... I can only give this course 3-star at most. If you only want syntax this is the course for you but if you really want to dive deep without blindly write code, it is better to find another course somewhere.

easy to follow

I came here knowing "something" about SQL, but mostly working on ORMs in my job. I wanted to enhance my knowledge and understand better what does the ORM hide from me and how to use it better. This course has fullfilled my expectations.
There are a few drabacks. Some are minor, like audio quality (the sound of hitting keys may be annoying), some are more serious like the fact that sometimes the course is a bit like documentation - topic 1, topic 2, topic n. Sometimes I had a feeling that my knowledge doesn't build up and I'm about to forget previous lessons. The difficulty was rather steady.
However, I must say that topics that did interest me most like optimization were well explained. I learned how to read plans, how to use indexes etc. I had a feeling that Will really has decent experience with what he does.
To sum up, I do recommend this course. One just needs to keep in mind that some topics will need a lot of own work outside of it. So to answer the "hope you enjoyed it" - yes Will I did. Thank you ;-)

pgadmin installation took me a while

Invaluable course. Lots of material in a nice and structured form.
Nitpicks:
1. I wish example tables were smaller and had fewer columns. That would spare us from typing lots of fields.
2. It would be nice to see a bit more detailed explanations on some hard topics such as recursion.

Although one might wonder how an SQL course be really entertaining, I feel in this course there is no effort to make that any better. The repetitiveness is really bothering me, the examples too dry and uninspiring. Will not follow through here.
