I am sorry to say that I continue to find this course exasperatingly woeful. The lectures only serve to confuse and frustrate. Explanations are limited (I think there is a presumption of familiarity with GitHub, but not Sourcetree); differences in Graphical User Interfaces are not communicated to the level of a 'beginner'; how, for instance, does one 'fork' an entire project, when there is no fork symbol or option in either of the menu panes? Something the lecturer would have students do, ultimately, to establish a more conventional means of supervision? Accessing the project files is practically impossible, as it has not been established how to do so.

Trawling the Web for information on how to complete the tasks set out in the lectures is not what I expected to be doing; it seems a waste of my time and a fruitless exercise.

I was looking forward to learning about GitHub, but I don't think this is the right course to facilitate that goal. Perhaps, if Mr. Thomson were to review the lectures, he might understand the frustration of his ex-students - with the view of improving the course.

This course tells you what to do yet offers no global, big picture view of how Git is, how it evolved, and even why it exists. This is not a Beginners Git Course. If it was, it would define the terminology before it started using it.

I don't recommend this course at all for someone wanting to understand the ins and outs of Git. It is too low level and doesn't provide insight into how Git works.
