It seems very well placed and simple to follow. So far, no topics or ideas feel above my head or hard to understand. I will say that the version of Ubuntu has some differences from what the instructor is using and what is currently in use. I am trying commands as he goes through them, and most work, but some do not.

Yes, it was a good match. I got an overview of some basic facts regarding Linux which will be helpful in my education path.

This is a great resource! As a new user, it is helpful to have incremental videos to watch as a concept is explained, allowing for proper assimilation of details of a vast and complex concept.

I like the accent of the speaker personally. And I also like how he is going through and explaining his material as if I were right in front of him. Not like he's just sitting in front of a camera and mic.

I have loved how easy to follow the videos are. I respect that the version of Ubuntu I am using in 2026 is not the same version as used in the videos. But the bulk of the commands remain the same. Thank you for having this course available.

Very formal presentation, and I feel that I am really grasping the information being shown.

By Christopher Sears on 6/8/2026

The content is definitely worth it. If I could be honest, I would prefer a more vocal interactive approach, as the lack of excitement in the presenter's voice takes away from the great information being shared.

This class has material that was recorded over 10 years ago, and there are a few commands that have been broken or removed in Ubuntu OS since then. For example, the multiword command "who am i" has been broken since Ubuntu 25.04, or a little over a year ago.

By Patrick Callahan on 5/17/2026

step by step instructions have been great. the version changes make it a little touch to follow at times but with some trouble shooting and LLM assistance it has been fine. I would give 5 stars if the video was updated to follow more recent versions and the obvious changes students would encounter when downloading and running the software. I have a decent Linux and IT background. If I didn't this may have been more difficult so far due to the difference in versions since the videos creation and current VBox and Linux distro outputs.

After taking this course i thought i was well prepared for the exam, well wishful thinking. You need other resource to pass this exam. There were questions on the exam that this course did not cover... This course just scratches the surface..
