Ubuntu Linux Server Basics (Udemy.com)

Cody is obviously very knowledgeable on this subject, and clearly loves passing this on to his students. I am totally new to this and have learnt a lot whilst Cody keeps me engaged. He is a great teacher. I have deducted 1 star because the content is based on ubuntu server 14 and we are now on 26. I would love to see a new course or this one updated. That said there are many fundamentals that still stand and are still in use. I have needed to try and find though, why some commands simply don't work.

Well, it's just introduction so far. I saw that there is an option to take the survey at the end of the course, I would say then wait until the end of the course to ask for the survey to be answered.

This course shows us some cool things that we can do with Linux servers. I was meaning to learn how I could set up some scripts of my own to run on a server - which i learned is very simple to set up with Cronjobs. Even though it is a pretty dated course, it had given me a pretty solid foundation on Ubuntu server administration. I thank Cody very much for making the course. Highly recommended for beginners.

Tons of knowledge, great teacher. Thank you for making this class. One of my favorite aspects of the class is the teacher did not edit the videos when errors occurred, he did real world, real time stuff and corrected the errors. Sudo Master for sure!!!

I enjoyed the fact that Cody is human and it is human to ERR! He shows how to keep your composure and soldier on. When in doubt google is your friend. So far this course has been great. I didn't know anything about Ubuntu, and my job recently asked me to setup several Ubuntu VM's for our web development team. So far I've been able to support the team solely based on what I've learned from this course! Thanks.

Well paced course. Concepts are well explained. Instructor knows what he is doing and enjoys sharing his knowledge. This is a fun course. By the end of this course you will have a solid foundation to set up a server with basic functionality. Highly recommend this course!

Generally this is a good course. However, some of the instructions regarding Samba are out of date. After having difficulty getting Samba configured and working, I discovered on the Ubuntu site that changes had been made in the way Samba was configured and referred to. I also was unable to get PHP installed correctly and operable (got it working with information from Ask Ubuntu. Also, my questions were not answered.

The instruction is clear and concise!! Very understandable, instructor demonstrates knowledge and command to successfully guide beginners. I would encourage the use of instruction sheets thus giving you the opportunity to follow along if you don't have access to the computer with the video.

So far very easy to follow instructor. Like that instructor is easy to listen to, and is having fun teaching course. Keeps me interested to learn more. Awesome basic course, that I learned a great deal about servers. Thanks Cody, looking forward to your other courses, which I have already got.
