The videos are great. But there is a problem: Each time the mouse moves, the lower bar where I can configure the volume, navigat through the video ... appears, which appears in front of the current command line the instructor is typing. Maybe the instructor could resize it´s window so that the current command line is higher in the video screen, so that the lower video configuration bar doesnt overlap the content of the video (current command line the instructor is typing). I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you.

From day 1 asked for help and got none. From the looks of it, the instructor has not replayed to request in a while. Looks like a few years ago the response was consistent but has since been lacking. I don't type as fast as he does so, to try to listen and go through some of the commands was too me a disservice. Finally I just lost interest. Glad I didn't pay the listed cost.

Fine as a starting point to CentOS and as a rehearsal of Linux commands. I took this course to brush off some dust of my old skills and prepare for some other Linux courses where CentOS is used. I missed excercises/hands-on after each section, and summaries in pdf would be helpful. The instructor is well organized in his presentation and the recordings are good.

Instructor is clear and makes the course interesting. Imparting his knowledge of getting Samba to play well with CentOS was incredibly helpful. This one solution can resolve many people's concerns when failing to access their file server directories from a network computer. He instructs using CentOS on virtualisation software and accesses the shares and connects via ssh from Windows. It is easier to access via Macs, linux, BSD as there is no need to install Putty, so he has chosen appropriate tools for the demonstrations. My CentOS server is on dedicated hardware as I am not a fan of virtual servers. Nonetheless, his lessons cover both installation types.

Cody is a great instructor. I really liked taking this course and I'm going to take his Ubuntu server course. There was one thing that bothered me is that he leaves his command prompt at the bottom of terminal. I know that it is bothersome to type in [$ clear] every time but it helps me so that my video timeline will not be in the way every time I move the mouse. Other than that Great Course!!

The explanations were quite clear and straight to the point. I loved the explanation for the WLAN configuration, even if it's not the best idea. What I feel this course could use a bit more information on are the mail server options and configuration. In any case this is one of the most practically useful courses on the subject. I'm already thinking about getting more courses from Cody.

This course is a very thorough and engaging subject matter. In the end topics, the instructor was going amazingly fast. Yet I still enjoyed the course because it taught me some very basic and important lessons that I feel confident to utilize in other Linux courses. I look forward to more of his other offerings on Udemy

I want to Learn Centos 7, because my next step for me is Red Hat. The instructor in this course is doing a awesome job of teach us Centos 7. If you don't understand you can go back and listen again and again and I am telling you will get it. I have a Centos server at home and I could not get pass adding a new drive to my system. But the first day I listen to this podcast I got it because of these cores. I want to become a Linux Admin and with this program I can see it, and can do this.

Cody Ray Miller has delivered a very good introduction to CentOS Linux setup and administration. His delivery is enthustiastic and engaging and I even enjoyed the small musical interlude! Coming from a Windows networking background I was a bit daunted with having to set up a CentOS based Linux server. I still do not "get" Linux peoples fascination with using a command prompt when a graphical, menu system might be available but each to their own. Cody Ray explains all what is needed to get going and a bit of work on top of what he demonstrates should see you through to having a working CentOS server. It helps if you have a basic understanding of servers and IP networking but do not worry if you do not as you may just have to pause the course to do a little bit of extra research. Finally, this course makes use of the free to download Oracle VirtualBox Manager software. If you are using an old PC download this first and make sure that you can start an install of 64 bit Linux software. Old PC's motherboards i.e. older than 5 years may not support virtualization or 64 bit installations.
