Unfortunately, the course is already outdated. However, the examples still work, except for minor adjustments. It seems that the author is no longer interested in Visual Basic.net and focuses more on C#. Too bad. Because the course has good approaches and offers examples that are not offered in other beginner courses. As an example, the "Printing section" is worth mentioning. Also, the "classes" that scare off many beginners are actually well done. The only criticism is that the class topics are changed too often. Also, the lack of attention to controls is a pity. The topic is well conveyed, the author has the appropriate competence and can explain well. Even without a good knowledge of English, you can follow the course well. I would have gladly given 5 stars. But due to the age of the course, the lack of updates and the above-mentioned shortcomings, it is unfortunately only 3.5. Es scheint als hätte der Autor kein Interesse mehr an Visual Basic.net und konzentriert sich mehr auf C#. Schade. Denn der Kurs hat gute Ansätze und bietet Beispiele, die in anderen Anfängerkursen so nicht geboten werden. Als Beispiel ist hier der "Printing-Abschnitt" anzumerken. Auch das eingehen auf die "Klassen", die viele Anfänger abschrecken ist eigentlich gut gemacht. Zu bemängeln ist hier nur, das die Klassen-Themen zu oft geändert werden. Auch das fehlende eingehen auf Controls ist schade. Das Thema wird gut vermittelt, der Autor verfügt über die entsprechende Kompetenz und kann gut erklären. Auch ohne gute Englischkenntnisse kann man dem Kurs gut folgen. Gerne hätte ich 5 Sterne vergeben. Aber aufgrund des Kurs-Alters, der fehlenden Aktualisierung und den o.g. Mängeln sind es leider nur 3,5.

Really nice course to start programming. It covers all of the basics, even more then one could expect on a beguinner's course. I highly recommend it to all starters and also to someone, who has already some experience on the field, because of the cleaness of the programs done here.

in my way of studying I believe we should have more "homework" instead of mentioning it in the end of a video some of the chapters i just listened and ran the homework prog in my head, knowing the code. as well as this was straight on programming with little to no algorithmic study that is a must in every programming language . all in all i learned how to use VB.net from just listening. so the course reached it's goal. great work !

This course was just plain amazing from start to finish. The instructor spoke clearly and was very thorough in all the topics he covered. He starts out with easy topics and builds from there. The examples, though simple, are very helpful in hammering down what you've learned. The downside is the instructor does not seem very responsive, but it seems this course wasn't exactly built specifically for Udemy. Regardless, this is an easy 5 stars for me.

It's impossible to create something that's perfect for everyone but that was close. I feel that the speach was a bit fast, especially for the topics I found more difficult. It could do with an overview of the program hierarchy. For instance, I don't know what namespaces are or what else there is. When learning something new, I always have a fear of what the scope of the topic is so an explanation of the structure of the laguage is would be helpful.

I am moving from VB6. Well delivered. Clear english. Good introduction to IDE. Covers enough topics to let me get stated to learn on my own. What I missed is source information for the numerous methods, namespaces, constants, enums, etc. that the instructor uses profusely. in short, how to find methods, classes etc. that come with the language that are available to the user. A lesson on the help menu would be useful.

The instructor has paid attention to even the small details while explaining. The course flow is smooth and will make you enjoy the learning curve. The quality of the material presented is top notch and you can tell that the instructor is very experienced in teaching programming languages.

Good refresher for VB.NET. I had learned VB.NET when the .NET Framework initially came out and after a few years had transitioned to C#. The possibility of a VB.NET assignment is looming in the future so I decided to refresh my VB.NET skills. I had created a C#.NET application for Northwind2 using MVC, Wcf, DI, etc. Now I am going to convert that to VB.NET. Problem being is all examples for Dependency Injection (DI), Windows Communication Foundation (Wcf) are in C# so it is going to be very entertaining for me to go through the conversion, however, I think it will prove very worthwhile!

Each lecture is well explained and easy to understand.The course goes a little too fast for a beginner, so be sure to catch all the words and explanation for each lecture and take notes! The professor was very quick in responding a couple of question I had; his answers were clear and helpful.
