Not as practical as was mentioned at the beginning of the course... Using and configuring sudo is missing in the Account Security part. There are only slides in the downloaded resources, also on one is responding to my asked question. I do not recommend purchasing this course.

The instructor is very knowlegable gets straight to the point regarding Linux security. There isn’t any “filler” discussion to make the content seem larger than it really is. I have study some of the content in the past, using other sources, but sometimes found it difficult to grasp. The course was put together in a way that made the content easy to understand. The lecture then demo helped to reinforce the material learned.

It was a really good informative course. I think this course is geared more toward individuals who already have a background in Linux so I would recommend newcomers to Linux to check out other introductory courses before engaging in this one. He covered a broad range of topics regarding Linux security and also gave a lot of great resources for us to check out after we complete the course so it was definitely worth it. Thanks!

I learned a lot. I would recommend taking the Vim course first and maybe the beginner to expert courses to the list of courses before taking this course. Also I wish he had a checklist for hardening any distro like fedora. I found one checklist online for hardening Android, but its outdated. Some of the functions don't exist on my phone any more.

I liked the way the course is organized and also the fact that it is direct and to the point. I missed a todo list document with everything that should be done in order to secure a linux system. Such a document saves a lot of time at the end to go through it and do the necessary changes one by one - so i need to do it myself.

I really like this course, Jason does a great job in explaining lots of things i had no clue about. I'm only half way through the course so I will update my final thoughts in the end. finished course and really liked it but it lacked exercises and did not go into details about some security aspects of services being locked down to a service account. he mentions that it is a good security practice but never shows how to install apache or nginx or mysql and how to make sure a service account owns that service. i liked the instructor and i already signed up for more of his courses

I got a great overview and insight into the Various Layers of security. But as I am a newbie and using a VPS limits what I can do to a certain extent. At least until I understand more. The whole program is very clear and easily understandable. Some of the port forwarding/firewall rules info seems a little confusing but a second listen will make things clearer for me personally. The actual training is superb. Second to none I'd say. I'm going to take the 5 Day Linux Course then watch this program again to give me an even deeper understanding of this brilliantly organized programs contents...

This is the second course I acquire by Mr. Jason Cannon and the content is always very clear and easy to follow. Demos are always offered which clear up any doubts one may have, and I always end up learning more than I had originally imagined I would learn. This course specifically, will teach you how to protect your (Linux) system and reduce your attack surface dramatically. If you are in any way interested in working with Linux, I would definitely recommend this course.

The information that have been presented at this stage of the course has been very helpful and provided addition insight into securing your network running the Linux OS. The course have provided addition information that I was not aware of although I am familiar with Linux OS, but not with the some details provided in this course to secure the network access to systems running the Linux OS.

As someone working in the security industry and in need of more Linux-specific skills, I found this course fantastic! Starts with a quick intro to some high level concepts, jumps into hands-on topics and examples. It's apparent the instructor is pro, this is one of the highest quality Udemy courses I've taken so far. Vagrant up a VM and follow along to get the most out of the course, as with all things you'll learn more effectively by actually practicing.
