Course Description
Mastering Marvelous Designer is specially crafted course for those who are looking forward to create 3D virtual Clothing for Games, Character Animation and Fashion portfolio.
This course is designed in such a way that you will learn each and every tool in Marvelous Designer by applying logic and design simultaneously. This course not just teaches you the tools but the creative design element as well by creating amazing clothes in a really straight forward practical approach by understanding them.
Creating Virtual clothing and simulating them in other software is a really hard and time consuming process. Clothing for Animation and Gaming in other software is very much limited because we would require to sculpt the fabric itself. Marvelous Designer helps you make that process really easy and simple. This course will help you to understand a lot about 3D Virtual clothing. You do not have to be a fashion design expert or 3D professional to take this course. But by the end of the course you would be an expert in Marvelous Designer. You could just be a beginner, but this course would help you achieve what you need in a really easy way. By the end of this course you will be able to Master in 3D Virtual Clothing and Gaming Costumes.

I have taken many Udemy courses. It is rare to find a teacher well-organized and talks professionally. This course is organized to a great degree if you know anything about teaching which so helps to learn a subject. Also, the teacher's diction makes following what the teacher is saying very easy. The teacher does use MD 10 which I thought would be a problem but as the teacher says in a beginning lecture the workflow through all versions stays consistent. I have found the fact that things are in a different place in MD12 has helped my learning experience immensely. Long story short: this is one of the better teachers at Udemy.

This course was developed using MD 9. Most things have been moved or reassigned in MD 12. This makes many things frustrating to find in the beginning. Instructor starts with installed version that is already configured with an avatar without saying where the avatar came from. Later sections show how to add an avatar using an outside application, then proceeds to show that MD has several built-in. The instructor backtracked on several steps. Some of these steps (e.g. changing a line type) may result in problems with difficult to find solutions (if you get an Unfold error, the segment probably has curve points.) Halfway through, I find that the videos directly from Marvelous Designer are easier to follow and are up-to-date.

It's an amazing tutorial, there is absolutely no doubt about that. I have learned so much! There are moments though that I can sense him not knowing how to explain something, so just omitting it. Especially during the part where he explains how to assemble & resize the floofy circular layers. Would I recommend this to people who are learning? ABSOLUTELY! I would just say... be prepared to look up a few things.

I think this course is more suitable for beginners. Many points of detail have been missed; at the end of the course, many questions remain. In general, the general aspects and functions of the program are highlighted, but there are not enough details. Great for familiarizing yourself with the program, creating simple fabrics, but needs refinement. I think it's not worth the money. Thanks a lot to the author!

Wonderful course. The instructor covers many aspects that make you master the application. Regarding the content I would like to see more exporting tips regarding other pipeline integration software, for instance like Reallusion Character Creator, Blender (both software's on clothes weights, re-topology), and some post-processing tips, like removing the pattern stitches that remain when you are exporting the clothes. The rest is awesome.

The course a great way to get comfortable with the tools of MD7. An obvious effort was put forth in the delivery of the material. I was able to produce immediate and satisfying results because of the course. Because access to the course is not time limited, I would like to see all of the course built (not just this one) in a way that can be referenced later to perform specific tasks, more like the later modules taught here. This is just personal preference.

Good beginner course for learning marvelous designer. I tend to take a more technical approach to garment creation than the organic techniques you've demonstrated in this course. I'd like to see a section with more detail on pattern drafting. Thanks.

It has been a good learning lesson so far but could not understand why the instructor started with the skirt before finishing the blouse. Also, wondering if the blouse could have not been put on layer by itself before beginning on the skirt having it on another layer? It has so far been a nice beginning to learn working in Marvelous Designer. Would like to see a more in-depth lessons to learn Marvelous Designer much better. Not sure if after completing this course if I felt that I have "Mastered" the software. Felt the course was more like a demonstration for the of what can be done in Marvelous Designer than mastering it...hope to see something towards that path in the future.

The instructions are wonderful for learning the Marvelous Designer UI, and available approaches, but the pattern drafting approach is off. Ruffles which are deep at the bottom, and smaller at the top, cannot be created with a rectangle or fabric (it needs a series of arcs). The puckering in the top is due to differences in seam length (which MD makes it easy to measure). I almost stopped watching, but am glad I continued, because the lessons are great for learning what the program can do (what are the tools, how do you use them). I would recommend this video series as a good intro to the software, and even designing for animated characters, but suggest learning the pattern drafting (if you don't already have experience) separately. If you have a more recent version of the software, check the company website to find additional tools, such as instancing or symmetrical patterns. Still, the tutorial is well worth the price, the instructions are clear, organized, and well paced. I'm glad I watched this series.

Esta bueno el curso. No hacen falta conocimientos previos pero si es bueno tener una simple base de 3D. El tutuor explica cada paso muy bien y se entiende todo. Despues de ver el curso uno puede empezar a explorar y experimentar sin problemas.
