Mastering QuickBooks Desktop Beginner To Advanced (Udemy.com)

Firstly this was my first time ever using Udemy or even QuickBooks for that matter. Secondly, this was a brilliant beginner breakdown of the Desktop version of QuickBooks. Mark, expertly broke down the basic topics into easy to follow along chapters. Even my neurodivergent, brain could follow along, which was incredible as I often get very hung up on wording and verbiage. There were only a couple of examples that I got tripped up on due to how they were worded and were unable to reach out to Mark in the timeframe that I needed to complete this particular course. I will definitely be signing up for more of Mark's courses as to go further in depth into the world of QuickBooks both for home and business. I would also love even more practice examples (q.e.d. homework problems) and hopefully have some resource files of pdfs of what the various data windows should look like post completed homework (entirety) entry so as to match up my work with his results. The engineer in me wants to be able to check all the data windows and make sure I have done everything correctly. Mark's course came very close to being able to appease that need. Thank you Mark for making this course and making it enjoyable even under a hard deadline. Cheers.

While I am not done with the course, I feel confident enough to say that this is a great course for someone who has not used QuickBooks Premier 2017. Thank you to the instructor.

lovely. i understand the fundamental of invoices, sales recipes, Trial Balances, open invoice and corrections to all and customer transactions and deleted history. awesome. now I hope to learn about using imported bank checking and importing expences to QuickBooks. i 'm using mac plus and its slightly different but its totally manageable. the only difference is settings is preferences and customisation of doc is very different . first you load the page you want with all the displays you want , then you click on the Doc bar in customizations . then you drag out all the items you don't want and then drag and drop from the automated dropdown display of all active windows and ellect accordingly.

I did not have a QB program to follow along with which would have been helpful. I learned a lot but some of the questions were not logical to me. I am disappointed that bank rec's were not covered in this course and it was very light on the reporting functions. It covered no financial reports but the transactional instructions were pretty good. I will go through the course a few more times to see what I missed and to get it to sink in. The course is a little quick for true beginners and I did it in one setting so I need to slow down my process and focus more closely. Thank you - the value of the course was certainly worth more than the "sales" price.

A nice practical approach to learning the basics of QB incrementally while providing you with handy shortcuts to being more efficient. Identifies and addresses common mistakes, and provides enough context when explaining why he's recommending a specific way to do enter transactions or pull reports.

I love Mark Smolen's QuickBooks Desktop courses. I took 5 of them, and every single was exceptionally well done, very informative, detailed, with step by step instructions offered in a logical, easy to understand way. I have not learned as much from real experience with QB and from many textbooks I read as I learned from Mark Smolen's courses. He also responds to messages, questions, provides advice. Amazing! Thank you very much!

I've was thrown into help my husband at his office using QB's with little instruction from someone that wasn't advance at all. In just this short amount of time (on Video#16) I've already learned ways to make things more simplified. Excited to keep learning!!

Some of the slides were off that we checked numbers against. Also I was not able to get a certificate because it said I completed 31 of the 32 lectures, but there were only 31. Also a couple of the questions on the quiz had the wrong answer. I went back and reviewed and the information was wrong. Also when he showed the reports we were supposed to compare to we didn't get to see the full reports with all of the numbers. Overall it was a pretty good course. I learned a lot and appreciate the information. A little irritated I could not print a certificate.

It is an amazing course that I have been learning so far. The lectures and instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I learned quicklook before at school, but this course helps me understand the details of each transaction impact and fix common mistakes.

The instructor is crystal clear. I truly enjoyed taking this course. This is the first course on Udemy I will ever finish because it is so helpful and engaging. I chose to deduct a half a star for two reasons: 1. The course covers the barebones of QuickBooks and I don't feel like an expert nearing its completion 2. The course leaves out accounting for Inventory/COGS which I believe is necessary to include in a foundational course such as this. Other than these two points, the instructor is articulate and provides many concrete examples to hone your skill. You may not walk out of this course being an expert, but you will definitely walk out having a sound foundation you can use to dive deeper into Quickbooks.
