Course Description

We, in the modern world are obsessed with fictional characters like Sherlock Holmes.  It is practically inhuman for someone to be so astute that they can identify nearly invisible details in any situation. These fantasies are no longer as far-fetched as we once believed.

Back in the early 2000's the US Military researched and studied various methods to create better and smarter Soldiers. They wanted military personnel to be able to read a person's intentions anywhere and everywhere. After much dutiful study, research and testing, the military finally released a program to do just that.

This is the first course of six courses, diving into the realms of situational awareness, human behavior, body language and biological indicators. In this course, you will begin with the basics of understanding how to use your senses to become a habitual radar. Additionally, you will learn how to prepare for an emergency in the same manner displayed from characters like Jason Bourne.

Whether you are former military or if you've never taken a self-defense course, this will help you see the world differently and through a new lens. The world will reveal details you never noticed before.

Instructor Details

Joshua Johnston

I am a former Army Captain who recently departed the military to pursue other goals. While I was in, I was trained at the Army's Advanced Situational Awareness school in Fort Benning, GA.

Once I left the military, I recognized the training was being underutilized in American society. This brilliant training, which allows you to read situations like Sherlock Holmes, needs to be brought into the light.

Every time a tragedy occurs we ask, "Is there anything we can do to prevent this from happening?" Yes, and it is right here. It is comprehensive and yet so simple that anyone can use it.

I am dedicated to using my knowledge to teach you how to be a hero because that is what this world needs more of, real heroes.

Easy to understand and very much to the point! A lot of the information should come out of our common sense, but sometimes we need it served like this, to fully understand and kickstart our thought process! I really like the format of this course.

This course provides useful methods on how to stay alert. Very straight forward lesson on what and how to apply our senses in our lifestyle to make decision based on those steps and take action.

This course has taught me a lot about being safe through awareness. I'm studying self defense and hearing about using a bag, silverware and even a hot cup of coffee has helped broaden my mind on self defense! I shared this course with a friend & I will tell my relatives about it. Thanks!

Brief and perfectly to the point. That's great in my book. I much prefer quality over quantity, learning the important, relevant points fast without having to wade through waffle. For me I tend to get more out of it and I certainly feel I have learned useful information, can't wait to start the second course now!

It was a very good course, short and to-the-point. I was critical in the beginning but after completing the main content, I felt like I actually learnt helpful things. I like to stay aware and ready for action and so this was very good for reinforcing what I knew as well as for learning a lot of new things. thank you so much for this course :) I look forward to a second part

I'm an introvert who can often be oblivious to what's going on around me. I'm a thinker and not a doer. When I was younger, my mother often joked that if I were driving and came upon a sign that said "BRIDGE OUT," I'd just keep driving. Today, as an unmarried woman who's seen a lot of crap and met a lot of bad people, and especially considering the deteriorating stability of our society, I want to improve my awareness skills. I found this course quite short for the price, but of course the length is made clear upfront. This is a series that I will complete for sure.

Great course although on the short side. The idea to keep it simple is good, and the teacher seems original, enthusiastic, and capable. Although there is a lot of room to deepen the concepts taught. E.g. with more excercises, and longer examples, and (even) more interaction with the student. But i will pick this up myself, and go to the second course on this subject. I would advise this subject to anyone.

Yes, the course is a good match for me. As a security intel professional, I have to particularly focused at preventing or avoiding security incidents. The Left of Bang concept introduced in this module is instrumental to the purpose of security. I had prior knowledge of Cooper's Color Code and OODA. After the course, I'm better able to understand the relationship of the concept to defence.

I'm a Mexican living in México and it can be a dangerous country. It has a lot of useful principles to be less vulnerable. Although I still would like to know what things should I notice before a "bang", like body language of a possible aggressor, psychology of a predator etc.

This is an amazing course! I feel that everyone who is serious about personal safety should take this. The instructor is clear and easy to understand, the content is relevant and engaging. This has been a great addition and supplement to my law enforcement training in officer survival. I hope to see more from the instructor.
