I am an IT Trainer with over 15 years experience in delivering training in both Apple and Microsoft to a large array of clients, in both public training centres and corporate environments.
I have an IT teaching diploma and focus mainly on software training. I hold a current Microsoft Office Master certificate and have been teaching Microsoft Office Specialist (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook all to an advanced level) for the past 10 years.
The training I deliver ranges from iPad and iPhone training to Office productivity applications like Pages, Numbers and Keynote. I also train in video editing software like Final Cut Pro X and iMovie.
I feel the most important part of training is developing a connection with your students, building trust in both sides.

This is the second time I have had this learning. This time was exceptional. Colin had great practice worksheets that I could go through (even more than once). It was functional to the business community and using/managing data and time for efficient outcomes.

Great course, well explained and easy to follow along with. My one complaint is that the course examples were from a version of excel different than mine, so I had to do a little searching around my version to find some of the features that the instructor was explaining. Besides that, great course!

This is an excellent beginners Excel course that will leave you feeling like you have actual skills you can use in an office environment. This is my third course with Colin and I really enjoy his accessible teaching style. I was terrified of Excel before and now I am actually excited to use some of its very cool functions and formulas in my job! I wish I had taken this earlier in my career. Colin has a very calm demeanour that helps you not become frustrated, which I very much appreciate. Thank you Colin.

Some of the attachments he provided in the beginning of the course I was unable to open. That being said the practice test and all of those attachments did open for me so that was nice to be able to try out my new skills. Overall this a good class to brush up on your excel skills if you're like me and have a little bit of knowledge. I did learn quite a few things I didn't know how to do.

Before I started this course, I thought I was quite good at working with Excel, I knew a very small amount, I now have a much better understanding of how Excel works and some tricks to help in the workplace. Mark is a great instructor, he is able to explain why and how to do things in Excel. I really enjoyed this course and I will be taking more through him.

This course is very good at imparting the knowledge but it is not that great in terms of the learning aspect. I forget the minute I go on to the next topic. Learning theory advocates a different approach to teaching. But I am happy with the course. I just have to go through some topic a couple of times and take detailed notes and develop my own learning system to master the content.

My first Udemy course. Very good introduction, and this course has inspired me to purchase many more. I'll go through this one several times before moving on. Helpful, well explained. The practice test at the end makes it feel more like what will be expected in the real working world.

Some of the video is lower quality than the beginning. Some of the things are not current with Microsoft 365 Subscription. Pretty good course. I have some trouble with the instructor's Irish accent sometimes, but he does a pretty good job of explaining most things things. This is my first Udemy course but not my first online course. I am pleased with the value of this course. He has a test at the end and many of the things on the test, almost the whole 2nd page where not covered in the class, interesting choice. But he does take you step by step through the test and shows you the material then.

The first 3/4 parts are abit too basic for my liking. Maybe I selected the wrong course as I was looking for a more Advanced Excel course specific for Mac. Other than that, the instructor does teach everything clearly at a beginner level. So I'd still rate it highly for a really BEGINNER level.
