Course Description
This course is about understanding the very basis of music: sound. More precisely of sound in time. No matter what kind of instrument or musical endeavor you're interested, the most fundamental concepts are always the basics of sound in time, the rhythm.
We take an approach to study the basics of music in a way everyone can learn with no past musical experience whatsoever.
It is directed toward people who wants to learn music by themselves.
We include tutorials, exercises, and dictations as our main way to understand and practice the concepts.
Our approach is 100% practical, you should be making some rhythms from the very beginning, and have some solid skills by the end of the course.
Is very important to take a course like this before trying to learn any instrument, or try to compose, because, you need a solid foundation that sometimes teachers don't have the time to share.

I'm a multi instrumentalist musician, producer and composer, better know for my work on violin. Classically trained, and more than 20 years of experience. A popular musician by heart always connected to what people are listening, and the folk local and world music.
I have played in the Symphony Orchestra, as a jazz violinist in many bands, has recorded 8 albums. I have 2 Udemy courses with more than 8,000 students. As a composer, my "hit" has been "Estrellitas de Esperanza" a Violin duet I recorded with renowned violinist Karen Bentley. And as a producer, the arrangement and production of "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla along with great clarinetist Ranita de Santos, has more than 100,000 reproductions only on Spotify.

Not a good match as I studied a musical instrument for 5 years in high school. If taken from a beginners perspective, it was good.

I have been doing music theory for a while and I did two years of piano but I never really understood it so this is very quick and easy but I love it.

It is exactly what I needed! I have been searching for a course that teach me exactly from scratch. but unfortunately, every course I find, assumes I have some knowledge of Music which I don't. This course really felt it was made just for me. Thank you for this!

Like the very basic style. The hand drawn examples are crude, but it's perfect for helping me see the very basic concept behind all the symbols. Awesome!

Sometimes the pronunciation of certain words is hard to understand. Also I noticed a couple spelling mistakes like 'group' which annoys me. Otherwise it’s easy enough to learn from and the exercises are good to have a go at, course achieves what it's set out to do

I have been singing and playing lead or rhythm guitar for 50 + years by ear only. I don't know if my rating means anything. I got fed up with not knowing what I'm playing, figured the way to learn theory was start at the very beginning. I think this course would give a person who knew nothing at all about music a good start to build upon. Which is what I am doing now that I should have done when starting out but I was too young and stupid.

Great course for beginners. Easy to understand the information and very useful for all musicians. This basic course should be followed by all students in order to understand their instrument or voice.

I was searching for a while for an easily understandable tutorial to learn about the music notations. It is very well explained & easy to understand for any novice.
