Course Description

Learn Nerve Mobilization Techniques for Massage Therapy & Manual Therapy

Learn practical Nerve Mobilization, Neural Mobilization, and Nerve Gliding techniques with Michael Eric Everson, Manual Osteopath, Registered Massage Therapist, and Yoga Teacher.

This comprehensive Nerve Mobilization Massage Course introduces the anatomy and mechanics of the nervous system and teaches manual techniques for working with nerves and surrounding tissues.

You’ll explore how nerves interact with muscles, fascia, connective tissue, joints, and other surrounding structures, and how nerve mobility can be incorporated into a broader massage therapy and manual therapy approach.

What Is Nerve Mobilization?

Nerve Mobilization, also known as neural mobilization or nerve gliding, involves specific movements and manual techniques designed to work with the mobility and sensitivity of neural tissues and their surrounding structures.

This course takes a hands-on approach to understanding the nervous system and how nerve mobility relates to movement, soft tissue, and common musculoskeletal presentations.

You’ll learn how to apply nerve mobilization techniques systematically from head to toe and how to incorporate them into your existing massage or manual therapy practice.

What You'll Learn

Throughout this nerve mobilization massage course, you'll learn:

  • Nerve Mobilization techniques for the whole body

  • Neural Mobilization and nerve gliding concepts

  • The anatomy of the nervous system from head to toe

  • How nerves interact with surrounding muscles and connective tissues

  • Principles of nerve mobility and tissue movement

  • Assessment considerations for common nerve-related presentations

  • Practical manual techniques for working with neural tissues

  • How to integrate nerve mobilization into massage therapy

  • How to incorporate nerve mobilization into manual therapy treatments

  • Positioning and movement techniques used in neural mobilization

  • How to develop a more comprehensive approach to common musculoskeletal presentations

Learn the Nervous System From Head to Toe

Understanding anatomy is an important part of effective nerve mobilization.

The course explores the nervous system throughout the body and provides practical context for understanding the relationship between nerves, muscles, fascia, joints, and connective tissue.

You'll develop a better understanding of where nerves travel, how they relate to surrounding structures, and how this information can inform your hands-on assessment and treatment approach.

Nerve Mobilization for Massage Therapists

Nerve mobilization can be incorporated alongside other massage and manual therapy techniques.

Rather than treating the nervous system as completely separate from the rest of the body, you'll explore how neural structures interact with the surrounding musculoskeletal system and how this relationship can be considered during a massage or manual therapy session.

You'll learn practical techniques that can complement:

  • Massage Therapy

  • Deep Tissue Massage

  • Manual Therapy

  • Sports Massage

  • Myofascial techniques

  • Therapeutic massage

  • Mobility-focused treatment approaches

Great videos of demos of techniques with good explanation. Could use more diagrams and visuals of nerve pathways in the body before each segment so practitioners can visualize what they're working with.

I really enjoyed this course and it really gave me great ideas and techniques to help my clients. I'm really looking forward to trying this technique on a few of my specific clients first to really try a new approach on some of their issues. Thank you for such a great course.

By Marie Lefebvre on 5/25/2024

Michael is an awesome teacher in helping to explain about the nervous system and how it affects the whole body. I'm excited to use and incorporate his helpful techniques he showed on my clients to further heal pain in their bodies. It was such a good reminder about breath as well in how that helps to tell the brain to relax; it's something we all do everyday and being mindful of something as simple as breathing slower to calm down the nervous system for healing is so key!

This class simply explained and clearly demonstrated the nerves involved in various dysfunctions, and the techniques to release and mobilize them. I will be able to incorporate these techniques immediately into my practice.

Instructor was very thorough. He was easy to watch . Peaceful without being to quiet. Overall I learned so many helpful new techniques! Will be taking more classes. Thank you so much. Also I have a friend with ALS who I was immediately able to give some relief to. Particularly for burning sensation in his heel. You are wonderful!

By Marissa Varley on 7/13/2023

This course was delivered in a professional manner, and the knowledge is excellent. My only criticism is the lack of handouts. Being directed to a web page where there is far too much *Jargon* to wade through for a beginner is off putting. Hand outs to show the areas with an explanation would have made this course far more enjoyable and easier to grasp

By Karen J Lynch on 4/24/2023

I found the presentation of information and practice very informative. I knew right away, that there was yoga background, with incorporation of breath, movement, and concepts! Lovely!

By John Taglieri on 10/5/2022

Great course. I've taken a few with Michael and they are always wonderful. He has a great teaching style, is always informative, detailed and easy to follow. Cant wait to work with him again on another course.
