The course is good but far from perfect. The greate thing you do practice a lot of manual docker commands. You get the feeling of the technology. So far I've been able to follow the lectures, exercises worked for me. The teaching style could be improved a lot. Although I really appreciate the humor, which you don't meet that much on Udemy, the slides with a single word are weird and not convenient. There is no resourse with any of the learning material in a written form, if you forget the explanation - you dont have wher to look. The HTML files where the links and commands are - slow and not convenient. Explanations themselves are often not that clear. Like saying "You should not be hosting anything on docker host in production" but not saying why or what is the problem and not showing any slide/visual. Yes , i know this is explaned in the next lecture, but many times, there are these criptic "do this/don't do that" which is not properly explaned. The explanations should be more full and clear. And more visuals should be included regarding what architectures are right or wrong. Also, the first 35% of the course were a lot of talking with too much detail (like versions etc) which, in my opinion, should be AFTER we learn the basics of the technology, and not before.

Instructor Bio

Hi, I'm Nick and I've been a self taught software developer for about 20 years.

I'm also a Docker Captain, which means that Docker personally reached out to me to join their team as a trusted content provider and community leader.

Over the years I've worked as a consultant doing contract work for various clients while also hacking away on my own projects because it's what I love to do.

All of my courses have been created from experience I've gained while being in the trenches and figuring out things through real world experience.
