OBS Studio - Ultimate Livestreaming Guide to OBS Studio (Udemy.com)

I'm a complete newbie to livestreaming, and this was a great course to get me started with OBS Studio. Nick did a great job introducing and explaining the various topics. The only small negatives were that there were many terms that were used before they were defined, and since in the introductory video he stated that you didn't need to know anything, more attention should have been paid to assuming that the student DIDN'T know anything, so define everything first (ex. I don't know what a chroma key is, etc). Also there were a couple of chapters where Nick's screen wasn't being displayed as he was talking through the steps. Not a huge deal, but would be nice to fix this distraction so the student can follow along. Otherwise, I accomplished what I wanted to get out of the course and I'm off and running. I would definitely recommend the course.

Great course, even though it was recorded in 2019 and I completed it today in 2023. There were a few missing explanations here and there, but overall the course is very good. I hope there will be updates in the future. The instructor is very eloquent and captivating. The overlay and plugin lessons were the best in my opinion, as they help to take any broadcast or recording with OBS to the next level.

Overall for the price it was a good introductory course on OBS and how it works. I would have liked more information on some of the settings and tools rather than just reading them off the screen as I can do that myself. There was also an issue in a couple of lectures where menus, settings and selections are being used, but are not visible to us, this was a mistake that was acknowledged but not corrected for some reason. There was also a couple of instances where we were talked through some steps, but I would personally have preferred to see these steps as well. Again, for the price it was good. I did learn some things.

I learned more details about some of the settings, and that was beneficial even though the details about some of these were not explained. Some areas covered were not overly useful or repetitive and one chapter later on the wrong screen was recorded for part of the lecture. I did learn some useful tips though and would come back to this particularly for my setup.

The Instructor is definitely knowledgeable about OBS, but the course could be much better. Throughout the course it felt like, he has made the lectures on the fly, without having articulated the points beforehand. He also talked about a few topics in the lectures - which he mentioned will be discussed in the following videos, however, they were never discussed. I would also suggest to show the nitty gritty of setting up the OBS along with screen capture, rather than opening the OBS & explaining it. Final Verdict: Not worth to purchase the course, until it is updated completely. Far more sophisticated tutorials are available on YouTube for free.

The lessons are dynamic and the instructor shows on screen all the relevant information about how to use the software breaking it down in different topics. It helps to focus on one key area at the time instead of feeling overwhelmed with the software and its different options, progressively building one's confidence to use this program in a proficient manner.

The instructor is a little difficult to understand at times. He spoke a bit too fast for me and his accent made it a bit more difficult. I had trouble understanding some words and had to run the lecture at a slower speed. I have some difficulty with hearing and some sounds are not clear. But I made it through the course OK and at the end the instructor offered his continuing support. Over all I give this course 5 stars and recommend it to a beginner and to an intermediate user.
