Course Description
The OWASP: Proactive Controls course is part of a series of training courses on the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). The OWASP Top Ten Proactive Controls is a list of security techniques that should be included in every software development project. They are ordered by order of importance, with control number 1 being the most important. This training assists the developers who are new to secure development to ensure application security.
The OWASP Foundation was established with a purpose to secure the applications in such a way that they can be conceived, developed, acquired, operated, and maintained in a trusted way. All of the OWASP tools, documents, forums, and chapters are free and open to anyone interested in improving application security. This course along with the other courses in the series on OWASP provides a basic overview of the concepts that form an integral part of the OWASP core values.

Gives a nice explanation on the OWASP Top 10 Proactive Controls. Many times, a developer misses one or more of these controls unknowingly. If not for a proper code review and validation process, this kind of code can go into the production. The course gives a nice reminder to be aware of these readily available controls. The instructor explains the things nicely and in detail. The content is easy to understand. Thanks.

The closed captions were horrible, the audio in this video could be much better quality. I feel that the speaker spoke in a monotone voice the entire course, made it difficult to follow

I've studied OWASP before but this course reenforced my understanding. Unfortunately, the course hasn't been updated for several years now so the content of OWASP slightly differs now but nevertheless, the basics haven't changed too much so I think the course is still worth taking.

Excellent explain with demo for Cross Site Scripting as SQL Injection and can avoid by parameterized query and best way is LINQ.

the videos were very elaborative. Suggestion: quiz can be broken down to module level

Decent. Like some of the other comments have said, put this course on 1.25x playback. Otherwise, at times, it's almost unbearable. Good content, though could be a bit polished up.

This was a good and informative course. The only thing is that I thought the 'A' in the CIA triad was for 'Availability' not 'Authenticity'. Something that is authentic sounds like it would more fall under the Integrity portion of the CIA triad.

The course is a good overview for the 2016 Proactive Controls. I just realized after watching the whole course that there is already a 2018 version of the Proactive Controls which are slightly different (and not covered in this course). I would recommend to use 1.25 or even 1.5 playback speed.

OWASP is a very importante matter to take into account when developing our systems, but even if it is useful information, is off to be reviewing OWASP 2016 when the latest version is the 2018 and is somewhat different.

The course itself was excellent, but some of the quiz questions should be reevaluated to not include random trivia about acronyms or Java frameworks. Focus on what the relevant security takeaways should be.
