Course Description

Are you stressed?

Do you know others who are stressed?

This course is for you; it is for them - help others, help yourself.

Stress causes short AND long term harm.

Stress is the biological response to intrinsic or extrinsic stimulus.  This biological stress response involves interconnections among the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems. The two most well known stress-related biological mechanisms are:-

  • sympathetic arousal

  • activation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenocortical (HPA) axis.

The biological stress response involves interconnections among the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems.

Distress (negative stress) can lead to physical symptoms including headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and problems sleeping. Research suggests that stress also can bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases.

Stress has been linked to illnesses that include cancer, lung disease, fatal accidents, suicide, and cirrhosis of the liver.

Other negative effects:

  • Long term disability

  • Weakens immune system

  • Ages you

  • Can ruin your heart

  • Can ruin your teeth and gums

  • Makes it difficult to control emotions

But...we can do a lot to reduce stress - hundreds of tips - and this is what the course (plus workbooks) is about!

You have lifetime access - we have different stresses throughout our lives - so there is no hurry as you work through the course.  In addition to the hundreds of tips we also explore specific recommendations from the Instructor.

Well, first of all I gave good review after first few videos but then I got suspicious in teachers knowledge in psychology as advices like "throw a paper plane" or "tell someone to have a good day in pig latin" doesn't sound like an a professional techniques. As well in section when he talks about suicide - as copying skill, or long video of him walking in the garden. I decided not to pursue the certificate as not looking in to that as to be valuable document

Very nice ! Good advices from instructor !

It was an excellent class. The fact that the instructor tried in most cases to practice or bring scenerios where the HOWs in the videos were played out/modelled. Also, the video, sound and the different background choice were great. However, I feel some points where over stressed and repeated in-between which lead to time consumption. Also, in as much as a like reading, the later end of the video payed so much attention to reading that I almost forgot we were studying Stress management. Altogether, they lesson was worth the time and every penny. A big thanks you to the instructor.
