Our take
Based on the ratings of 283 students and a sample of their written reviews, as the course stood in January 2019. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a practice test set, not a video course. It has six timed tests and 120 questions built around the vSphere 6.5 Foundations 2V0-602 objectives: ESXi and vCenter, VM administration, networking and storage, and clustering with DRS, HA and FT. The instructor, Rick Crisci of TrainerTests, lists his own two Foundations video courses as the prerequisite, so it assumes you have already studied the material. The exam it targets is retired, and the last update was January 2019.
Reviewers mostly like it. About 234 of 283 ratings are four or five stars, and the praise keeps landing on the explanations after each question and the pointers on where to brush up. One reviewer calls the instructor a terrific trainer. Several say they passed the Foundations exam, one of them on the first try, and one says most of the questions were on the real test. The complaints are small and specific. One reviewer noticed spelling and grammar mistakes, another wants a bigger question pool so retakes are not just memory, and a one-star review says the questions have not been updated since 2017.
Value depends on timing. With the exam retired, this is only useful for someone still sitting 2V0-602. It is mainly a test, so the video courses remain the place to learn the material. For people in that narrow spot, reviewers say it helped them refresh knowledge and find where they were lacking. Anyone else should look for a practice set matched to a current exam.
Pros
- Explanations after each question show why an answer is right, which reviewers single out.
- Timed tests plus a score breakdown, with links to outside resources for weak spots.
- Covers ESXi, vCenter, networking, storage, vSAN and clustering across 120 questions.
- Several reviewers say they passed the Foundations exam after using it.
Cons
- The 2V0-602 exam is retired, and one reviewer says the questions date from 2017.
- Fixed questions with no random extras, so a retake mostly tests memory, per one reviewer.
- Some questions have spelling and grammar mistakes.
Good selection of topics are covered. Loved the helpful information after each question.
Listed for all levels, but it assumes you have finished the Foundations Part 1 and Part 2 video courses first.
What you will learn
- Pass the vSphere 6.5 2V0-602 Certification exam.

Interesting questions. Are they actually asked in the exam or this is a representation of what the exam looks like?
By Shoaib Ishaq on 2/4/2019
I realized that the questions are not updated since 2017. and now this exam is already expired in AUG 2019.

This is a great practice test. I like how the correct answers are shown when missed and gives an explanation at the bottom. I am going to go through this practice test a few more times then take the 6.5 Foundations test!

I believe it was a good match. I would have liked the prep course to better align with the questions, but it gave me a good idea of what to expect from the test.
By John Derr on 5/16/2018
Great format and retaking the tests with the answers being shuffled was helpful in ensuring I new the correct answer not the correct letter!
