For a beginner in photography, who doesn't even understand the camera settings well, let alone using a flash, it seems difficult, confusing... but Bernie has a very good teaching style, and he helps you understand how you need to proceed to get the best results. Thank you very much Bernie! I have one more course and I'm going through them all, I noticed that a new course is in the works, I hope it appears as soon as possible.

Hands down! This is one of the most simplistic courses I've taken, but with a lot of substance in it. Although, there are some small parts that some explanations were too short, this is the best flash photography course for a flash user beginner without all the bells and whistles. I love the simple, easy language along with the enthusiasm, funny way Bernie explains and demonstrate in the field including his "mistakes" that makes everything look natural as I were doing it. I enjoyed the course a lot. If it weren't that difficult and time consuming, I'd ask Bernie to improve it in some aspects related to the teaching, but it's awesome. Great job mate!!! You are awesome!!! Thank you!!!

The instructor is a great and full of knowledge and the course is vey useful but it is missing starting from the beginning understanding light in photography and why we do that ? like why we put the flash above eye level ? and needed more details from which angle he shoots and also why what is the reason he shoot from this side else the course is useful and great and sure will start a new course with him

Most of the content is very helpful and interesting however the instructor seems to be nervous when he speaks along the course even when laughing . Some information is not accurate but it is ammended when so. I personally think what you learn is valuable but it is not delivered professionally in that sense that many mistakes (tripping over, not stabilising the tripod so umbrella falling on model, dropping objects, mentioning about cuts on the hand, flash having been dropped before, etc) do not give you the impression you are getting solid tips on how to or not to do things. Just my opinion. Having said so I would be a disaster if trying to deliver training like that.

L'auteur prouve qu'avec un équipement qui ne "coûte pas les yeux de la tête" on peut réussir de beaux portraits tant en studio qu'en portrait.Les notions fondamentales telles que l'exposition à la lumière ambiante et l'exposition au flash sont clairement expliquées si bien que les différents moyens de maitriser l'équilibre entre ces deux éclairages sont aisément accessibles.

Bernie is fun to watch and learn from. This course is rich in information delivered in a structured and easy style covering photography basics (Aperture, Shutter, ISO...) to advance techniques such as the High Speed Sync. I am at an intermediate level in my photography studies and I found this course quite interesting especially the hands on photo shoot. Cheers!

I have taken all four courses offered by Udemy by Bernie Raffe and Rate all at 5 stars. Bernie is easy to listen to and follow as he uses a relaxed informal teaching aproache. I have been taking pictures for almost 70 years but knew very little about photography. Old dogs can learn new tricks. I still review the lectures quite often as somethings sink in slower than others but thanks to Bernis's courses I have come to enjoy the hobby & hope to for quite a while longer. Thanks Bernie!

Simply Wonderful! I did not know Bernie Raffe or his work before this course but I wanted to learn how to use off camera both in manual and TTL modes. The beautiful portrait of Hanna ( one of the models Mr. Raffe uses in the course for demonstrations further enticed me to I signed up. Mr. Raffe's unassuming manner, self depreciating humor and wit plus his easy to understand explanations and demonstrations has allowed me to have a good foundation to start using off camera flash in my photos. Also he ( unlike some other renowned photographers teaching courses through the Udemy platform speaks clearly and at a pace that even non native speakers of English could understand. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning off camera flash. I am looking forward to more of Bernie Raffe's courses in the future.

I have every course from Bernie and I just love, love, love this guy. His courses are presented in such a natural manor, meaning they are truly humorous but most importantly, they are so incredibly educational. Bernie really knows his stuff; he delivers his material in a practical and informative way. Watching videos, he is such a likeable person and is by far one of the best teachers I've ever learned from.
