Here are some Reviews by students already in less than 24 Hours after the launching of the course:
Niels Walkau: The dream of playing by ear is ALIVE!
I spent years learning to play piano by rote but could never play by ear. Embarrassing actually. I always thought I wasn't born with that "magical" talent and I would have given a lot to be able to sit down and play any tune off the top of my head. After only spending literally 30 minutes in this course, I have the confidence and evidence that IT IS POSSIBLE to learn to play by EAR. The piano notation that Rosa introduces is crazy easy to understand and will transform how you understand/enjoy playing music. I am only 8 lectures in at this point...I will report back as I make more progress...
Barbara: Learned to play 2 songs by ear in 30 min!
Wow! I am more excited about this course than any I have taken before. It's accelerated learning. Once again Rosa has shared so much knowledge with her students. Looking forward to the next course. If you are interested in learning to play by ear don't miss this course.
Judy Rae Harbin: This course really helped me with recognizing tones and their relation to each other.
Rosa, as always, was totally dedicated to making it all so simple to understand. Like learning a whole new musical language, but so easy-- with VERY impressive videos and demonstrations of each step along the way--typical Rosa highest quality!
Alene Thornton: A desire to play by ear?
As usual, I think Rosa has come up with another winning course. Rosa taught me this numbering system (Asian Notation or also known as Jianpu) several years ago and I have used it every since as a method to easily play any song in all 12 keys using just one lead sheet. The emphasis on Part 1 of this course is learning how to pick out a melody, and then also to write it down using the numbering system and also how to play using just the lyrics.
She explains, in her usual easy descriptive method, just how to know what key a song is in, what the starting note will be, whether it's a pickup note/notes and clues to where the melody is going next.
This first part 1 course is just the beginning of the fun! There will be more to come but you will be able to visualize the advantages of using this numbering system to make playing in any key so easy. There are lots of fun songs to practice this method in this course for beginners or intermediates to advanced, or anyone wanting to learn to play by ear, no matter what level you are at now.
Another super course!

This course has some good information at the start. It moves at a very slow pace and a great deal is repeated. The lacking audio-samples that others asked for, were still not added. It would be so so much more helpful if you played the melody first and maybe even played it section by section without showing it on the keyboard and we’d need to figure it out from your playing. I learned nothing from going to Youtube and found it find it frustrating to try and find a suitable version of the song. I am willing to give this course 5* is it gets updated with the audio - at least for the beginner section. Without that it’s an in-depth analysis of Twinkle Twinkle and then you are on your own.

I learned to play by ear at a very young age. I'm always looking for a way to pass on this knowledge. This course is fantastic in its elegance and simplicity. Love the dots for the upper and lower octaves. As a teacher, music director, and working musician, I find that it is all too common for some otherwise very good players, bass players especially (in my experience), to have somehow missed this very basic information. For instance, if a simple song needs transposing, one might have to re-teach the chords in the new key, or one might panic and end a tune with a note that is other than 1, and it's not because they intend to or are clever. Groove and tone are very important, but it's always a plus to get the notes right, and naturally. I really love the concept of states of rest as yet another way to explain the hierarchy of the scale. I'm contemplating a way to share similar information as it applies to chord changes and progressions. Thank you and bravo!

Love it so far. I was told I simply don't have an ear for music (I come from a line of musicians and music teachers and I was labeled the black sheep, the one without the talent, the one who couldn't sing nor play an instrument) and I believed it all my life. I've only gone through a quarter of the lessons by Rosa, but she sounds wonderful and her teaching is great and I'm learning so much. Based on the 25% of the course I have watched I can't sing her praises enough. I hope I'm given another chance to review her as I follow her - I would love to come back and let you know how my ear training is progressing.

I've always found the do ray me system a bit pointless - love that Rosa uses 1, 2, 3 instead. It makes so much more sense. (Rosa, no need to refer to do ray me - it might confuse some people.) I would have given this five stars if Rosa had made videos with the song lyrics and melody line instead of sending us to YouTube to find her practice songs. All songs have different versions and because of this I kept getting different results from Rosa's results when writing out the exercises. Maybe she's concerned about copyright, but songs like Mary had a little lamb and Kum ba ya are public domain and not in copyright.

I'd been playing piano for long time, but i was not good to play by ear, I tried different method, but never got improved my skills playing by ear. On the other side I could play well using music sheet and lead sheet as a result of my completion in ABRSM. So far this system looks promising, I am really looking forward to improve my accompanying skills to support any singers or instruments or bands to play any music in any key just to play on the spot as an impromptu player or close to that :-), Thanks

Amazing! I've been poring through music theory books and different ear training apps. Yes, they helped but nothing quick and simple like this course. How simple yet revolutionary. I've seen the Chinese notation system growing up since my dad plays Chinese music, and I used to look condescendingly on the seemingly simplistic notation system compared to the Western staff notation system. My dad who plays the erhu never had formal musical training but can hear pitches microtones apart; perhaps it has to do with this notation system. Rosa teaches clearly and simply. Don't underestimate the power of simplistic teaching.

I am one of those people that was "born tone deaf". As a child I could never sing in tune and I could not recognise tune but I loved music! As I got older I listened hard and began to recognise tune and melody and started to play guitar. I started this course yesterday and am up to lesson 33. I have played my first two simple songs by ear and written the practise music sentences having only one error in Kum Ba Ya being one note out in the last sentence. This course is excellent! So simple to follow and understand.

I really like this course where Rosa leads me step by step to listen to melody tones and how they relate to each other. It really does take me less than one hour to learn the concept and already I can pick out melodies of song easily. There is something magical about these numbers and the way she teaches us to write them so that it looks like a piece of music. I do see patterns. She constantly tells us to look for patterns. I didn't know that songs repeat themselves. I didn't know this has to do with playing by ear. I like the song assignments where she gives me answer. Off to play.

Wow! I am more excited about this course than any I have taken before. It's accelerated learning. Once again Rosa has shared so much knowledge with her students. Looking forward to the next course. If you are interested in learning to play by ear don't miss this course. We are on fire with the need to accomplish goals and you are a God given teacher!! :) I seem to be having a love affair with my piano now....can't get enough and want to be with the keys all day. It's a wonderful feeling. I praise God for all the knowledge and you for sharing your talent.
