Great course, but I have some advices: 1st, you should teach us how to edit portraits when the sun is backwards the subject. 2nd, in the section 4, it would be great if you show us how to use and configurate the flash Jon is using, because some flashes (like the Godox TT 520 II) can give more or less light, depending of which number of light you are choosing. 3rd, A practice at night, outdoors, and one at the golden hour will be helpfull, with and with no flash. 4th, try to show us more lighting schemes, for outdoors and indoors portrait photography. I reckon that with the ones most commonly used is ok. 5th, It could be very helpfull of you teach us how to take photos indoors with natural light but not so close to a window. Maybe sitting on the couch. Thats it. Thank you for the course

It is certainly the best portrait photography course available here. I like how the course is designed from the practical point of view. While some sessions ( indoor photography ones ) left me perplexed about what's going on, the course does equip me to just get my hands dirty and start practicing portrait photography. Kudos to the team who has helped designed this courses, especially the people who worked as the subjects.

Thank you Phil and Jon for this insightful and informative course. I am pleased that these courses have lifetime access so I can refer to them any time I need to. A special thank you to Jon for sharing his wealth of knowledge and skills in this particular style of photography. Jon is an amazing professional photographer; he certainly knows what he is talking about. A wonderful course and a brilliant lecturer. Thank you again Phil and Jon

Fantastic course. I've learned a lot of small details, I did not take in account before. This course covers pretty much everything about portrait photography, one needs to know. The only - very minor - downside from my point of view here is, that the course is pretty specific with certain equipment and only covers Lightroom as editing software. I missed some more hints, that not all of the equipment is really necessary (but might help a lot) and that there are many more ways to get the same or a very similar result. But overall this is not a very big issue with this course at all. I would have wished to see some other editing SW being covered (like Capture One and Affinity Photo), but this on the other hand is not really what the course is about and also this is a very personal point of view. So to sum it all up: This is a very great course to get all of you started in portrait photography. I clearly recommend this course!

if you haven't taken any other courses from Phil and Jon then go a head and enroll in this course, you will learn a lot. I took their Photography Masterclass and Adobe Lightroom Classic courses and I can say that %75 of the content of this course is the repetition of those two courses.

I have completed this course; why i gave this a Excellent rating! I like how they start off talking in theory and then go show their audience the practical components. Bottom line this course has structure, and flow. I think in the future the instructors will need to communicate effectively, either respond via messages and or to critique all photos especially when those student(s) takes the time to upload their photos for critiquing.

I liked the course, the pace is slow enough for me to understand everything as a non native English speaker. It is a course for a person who knows how to work with reflex cameras and in manual mode. The tips they give are very good. At the moment of export the photos, I think you could add more information about the quality of the photo needed for publish them in instagram, facebook, for them to be seen with excellent quality.

Instructor described the techniques quite succinctly and didn't get bogged down into too much technical detail. I'd say this is a great course for someone who has a little bit of experience with a camera i.e., a basic understanding of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter, ISO) as well as a basic understanding of light. In just about two of the lectures I learned so much that I was doing wrong, or why I was getting the (poor) results I was getting. The info in this course has def upped my photography and headshot game with the added bonus of being cheaper than any of Creative Live's stuff.

Really worthwhile course, the photographer/instructor as well as the Lightroom 'tech' were quite competent, friendly and engaging. I thought they stepped thru the processes in an informative and easily understood manner. I look forward to seeing the other courses they offer because I learned a good deal from this one and can begin practicing right away with the techniques.

I honestly believe that the course is a five stars course: The material presented is worth the money as lots of fine interesting and usefull information was presented. The way it was delivered is engaging: Jonathan is both, a great photographer and a teacher and very chatty person, so he gets the best out of the models and Phil was a great compliment to him. One thing that I would love to see is more info related to the gear; like where to find them, average pricing, would be recommended to by the used; and last, the continuous lights that Jonathan used (the two long square fixture with flourorescent light) are those DIY or are those sold in the market? regards, Awesome course!!! thanks Janlet
