Course Description
This course is a result of 25 years of consulting project and portfolio management experience, including Portfolio Management for large enterprise organizations. We will start this course with a brief overview of project portfolio manager’s responsibilities and the role of portfolio management within the PMO. We will then focus on the key aspects of the portfolio management process. Additionally, we will examine the history of project portfolio management (PPM), the three pillars of PPM, the distinction between project management and project portfolio management, and why bad things happen when organizations fail to utilize project portfolio management. We will then study Agile project portfolio management, the necessary core values, agile project processes, and how they are different vs. a more traditional approach, and how to select the most appropriate approach depending on the situation.
Why do companies like Apple, Microsoft, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson manage to deliver successful products to the markets year after year? And why do the majority of other organizations can’t replicate their success no matter how hard they try? This workshop is dedicated to the complicated and somewhat enigmatic topic of delivering successful products and services to the marketplace by selecting the best projects for implementation, proper assessment of the company’s throughput capacity and having a good grasp on project management.

I don't currently have any assignment as consultant and have not so much experience from "real projects". I've been project manager but from a previous company that I've been working 40 years and handling system and environments that I've been learning from the ground. Also the people in the organization was familiar for me with there strength and competence. Therefore it was more easy I gess to handle despite I don't have any formal Project Manager education. So this is much more than I was using, but I can relate some parts from my carrier.

I would rate this course very high as I could at a lot of practice side of Project & Portfolio management. The tutor delivers the course with extreme conviction and confidence which gives a lot of comfort. He uses classic examples, and real-time case studies and does a good story telling so that you understand the concepts very well. It's a must and repeat watch for everyone who aspire to take up portfolio management as a career

Finally someone explained portfolio management from inside of the company rather than just reading a theory from PMI books. This course gave me much better understanding of what needs to be done and how when it comes to managing the portfolio and dealing with real people in real live situations in the company. Would be good to have some examples included in the course outside from product oriented cases and technology, need more cases about professional services companies and insurance sector.

The trainers speaks in an understandable language, clearly. The trainer tells lots of stories which is great for relating properly to them. He supported the theory with strong examples delivered as coherent stories. I love that. I just wish there was templates attached to the course on estimation and scoring models presented in the training. Overall great training!

It is a practical course and very beneficial. I wished for the instructor to provide more diverse examples of the applications of PPM than just focusing on Products. I know there are other case studies he provides in other shorter courses, but that leaves this course void of concrete and sufficient practical examples and cases. I also felt that some of the tools and models for scoring have been rushed through. Overall, however, I am happy with this course and highly recommend it.

Strongly Recommended Masterclass for Project Managers, Business Managers, Entrepreneurs and all who want start business/projects, and who is already running! During masterclass I was excessively concentrated on every minute. I had watched every part more than 3 times. As a result I "examined" my projects, some of them failed some of them got more value on my vision and I am sure that in following months I will again take a look all these materials. There are bunch of courses in all these platforms but some of them are the kernel of experiences and this is one of them.

This was an excellent resource to get me very comfortable with PPM before interviewing for a role in a new PMO department. The concise explanation and many real word examples kept it engaging and I found it a very helpful supplement to my years of experience to give me more confidence in being able to execute a more structured approach.

Presentation was a bit to dense but the delivery was engaging and easy to follow. Plenty of practical and even historical examples that lay out the basis of most of the topic covered in the particular modules. I would have love to have more cases studies focused on communication and IT industries and more about the role of the PMO. Overall a valid and interesting course to take.

Jamal is a very good instructor. His style of teaching where he combines real life case studies and examples, along with excellent story narration makes the course study interesting and enjoyable. The course is very well structured and topics covered are very relevant. I would like to say a big thanks to Jamal and request him to keep creating new courses in the area of Portfolio/Program/Project Management. It is always nice to learn from him.
