Course Description

Presentation Skills-How to Give Team Presentations

In this "Presentation Skills-How to Give Team Presentations" course, you will learn how to develop messages, make team assignments, and practice your presentations, as a team. Most team presentations are dreadful and boring because executives tell themselves "I'm now giving a team presentation, so of course, we all have to read boring bullet-point messages off of a PowerPoint slide because that is how serious business people do things." This is a fallacy. TJ Walker is an expert Presentation Skills coach who has prepped and rehearsed executives from major corporations and institutions around the world on how to make better team presentations.

Every team presentation has the chance of making a great impression, no impression or a bad impression. Isn't it time you figured out how to make the most of every group presentation opportunity that you and your colleagues face?

"5 Stars! I found the way of presenting it very interesting." Udemy student Bruno Gavioli

"5 Stars! For me, the most important characteristic that any public speaker should have is to believe in what he/she tells people to do to the extent that it is reflected upon his/ her behavior, it becomes a part of his life, and people can feel that what he told them to do, is really applicable and he/she is an example. This is what you did, you applied all the tips and the procedures that you recommended for use in your video lectures, so thank you so much." Udemy student Yasmina Emad

This course will also help students learn more about the following topics: Smart tips: sales, sales management, virtual sales presentations, pitching yourself, remote selling, communicating to drive change, and building a business case/proposal.

Has some good tips but I feel the course is too long as well as having a quiz at the end of each section takes too much time out the training when there could be one single test at the end of the course. Also the quizzes have always the same questions just phrased differently.

The course was an Ok match for me. Most of my presentations are engineering-technical (I know TJ mentioned those don't exist), and I'd like a special part about the specifics to present this kind. Related, I'd like a lot more examples of "stories". I liked one example of presenting "22% growth" - giving a narrative why this growth came about. More such examples would be welcome! Also, what makes a good story, what makes a bad one - with examples. Videorecording is extremely helpful - I've learned it accidentally before this course, thank you for reinforcing this! One thing I am not sure I agree with is your take on brevity and being succinct. Especially in the context of "engineering-technical" presentations. I do believe that even the stories need to be as succinct as possible. Again, more examples would be welcome here!

Very helpful. Great reminder of some things we all should know, and great focus on key importnat points like forced videotaping of the dry runs, etc. For in person presentations, it would be helpful to have a quick section on hand gestures/body movements. Sometimes they are overdone; sometimes they are skipped. Either way is not optimal. Would be nice to have some guiding prinicples on what to do, what not to do, and suggested list of adequate ways to use hands, etc. Great course!

I learnt a few tips from this course to make my presentations better. A clear step-by-step guide to how to start putting a presentation together and how to master it. I'd like to see more examples of stories for different types of messages and sample slides e.g. a technical message, a financial message with an example story and a visual. Perhaps also a recommendation of AI tools to create visuals for a presentation. Thanks, TJ for the great course!

Really to-the-point and honest pieces of advice that prompt people start working on them right now. I would add also maybe some video demos of people that present their decks in different ways: mediocre one, goo and excellent way. This way we could see actually the difference between a boring or ordinary pitch and an excellent one.

Well-presented and thank you for the updates and books. In presenting to high company level individuals, I have discovered that they want the quick, but detailed version of the explanation. I have always written notes for these presentations, and they can be extensive and long. Your methods are very helpful and much needed. P.S. recording and watching yourself is KEY to getting a smooth, succinct presentation, although, I find it uncomfortable, it is an opportunity for improvement. It was really strange at first. But I have improved in that area.

Good course that goes over what to do to prepare for a group presentation. The downsides are that the original videos had a weird buzzing sound, the sound quality throughout the course wasn't the same and there was the one video that could use a good 1:30 clipping of black screen. I really appreciated Section 8 as while going through the course, it became clear that this was mostly meant for physical presentations. But Section 8 went over what is the same and what adjustments to make in order to keep up in the virtual world of group presentations. Overall, a very good course that has helped me prepare for my future group presentations.

A few sections seemed out of order. The Housekeeping Matters felt better suited for the beginning of the course. Ultimately, the main message I took away from this was to avoid overly complicated Power Point decks and focus on rehearsal on video as the best way to critique performance and improve presentation skills.

By Anonymized User on 10/4/2022

Background was extremely distracting with all the TV screens changing, that's all I could focus on, took away from your message. Information I DID capture was useful but very repetitive. Slides could have more information. Also slides did not feel cohesive, could have better flow

Thanks for the course!! It was simple and powerful one. Going forward, I will consider this points whenever iam going to do a presentation. Best one i like in this course: Practice the presentation on video until you like what you see. It may take one more or 50 more takes. Practice Practice Practice!!! :)
