Course Description
AI is evolving fast — and if you're only using standard ChatGPT, you're already behind.
This course will introduce you to OpenAI’s reasoning models (o1 to o4) — a cutting-edge line of models built to think deeply, solve harder problems, and simulate real reasoning.
Whether you're coding, analyzing, researching, or building, knowing when (and how) to use these models is a superpower.
What You’ll Be Able to Do:
Understand what makes reasoning models fundamentally different from regular GPTs
Identify the right model for your task — o3, o4-mini, or GPT-4o.
Use build-in chain-of-thought prompting without needing to engineer it yourself
Work hands-on with math, code, documents, visuals
Compare OpenAI models with rivals like Claude and Gemini using real benchmarks
Predict where reasoning models are going (and how GPT-5 might change everything)
Why This Course Stands Out:
Go hands-on with real tasks: logic puzzles, document comparison, toolchain planning, multimodal reasoning, and more
Learn prompting strategies that work with the model’s built-in reasoning — not against it
See how the O-series models think before they "speak" — and how that leads to fewer mistakes and more insight
Get ahead of the curve before these capabilities become the new standard in AI interfaces
If you want to move past generic chatbots and start using AI that can analyze, reason, and reflect — this course is your entry point into the next frontier of intelligent systems.
The AI that thinks for real is already here.
The question is: Are you using it to its full potential?

I teach IT professionals what I wish I'd known earlier.
My foundation is built on years in the trenches as an Agile Enterprise Software Developer, engineering solutions for everything from fast-paced start-ups and SMBs to large global corporations. I hold recognized roles as an AWS Community Builder, Postman Supernova, and GitLab Hero, alongside a deep history of securing and building major open-source projects.
For over a decade, I've taken that real-world experience and quietly built one of the largest learning communities around API tooling, test automation, and DevOps practices. What started as a side YouTube channel turned into hundreds of thousands of learners, conference talks, and team workshops at companies most IT professionals have heard of.
The thread through all of it is the same: take something that looks intimidating and break it down so anyone can understand it in plain language.
Lately, I've been spending more time on practical AI in the workplace. I look at how teams can leverage AI for both everyday knowledge work and hands-on IT engineering, like coding and testing. I focus on cutting through the hype to figure out how AI actually helps IT professionals get work done, build, and ship faster. New formats, same approach.

Overall the course gives good overview of general purpose GPT models & reasoning models, how prompts differ between them. Even though latest models got released recently while course focuses on earlier model still provide foundational concepts.

Very informative! Will keep checking back for Claude, and perplexity prompt strategy.

Evaluating the course for company use. I found the information very practical and the explanation of various types of LLMs and Reasoning Models to be great context. Course covers some gaps in information about initiating a platform.openai account that were missing in other courses.
