Course Description
Hi there,
Welcome to Python 101 - your first step to learning how to program using Python.
Python is in the top 3 most popular programming languages in the world. BIt's easy to learn, easy to read, and easy to write, plus Python is incredibly powerful.
Some of the things you can create with Python are:
Websites
Automation tools for your home
APIs
Artificial intelligence
Machine learning
Mathematical algorithms
Scraping tools
And more...
Some of the most popular companies in the world use and support Python, too. Such as:
Google who owns YouTube (made with Python)
Facebook who owns Instagram (made with Python)
Dropbox (made with Python)
You get the point.. there's a lot of them!
And in 2021 you will definitely want to know Python as it becomes more powerful and more popular. As it grows, so will job demand for Python programmers. The nice thing is: Python is easy to learn and quick to get a hang of.
But why use Python instead of other languages like Java?
Python is consistently the top choice for new programmers - not because it's beginner-friendly, but because it's easy to read and write. You don't have to learn all sorts of new rules or write crazy letters beside each other. Python is made in such a way you can literally just read through your code like it's a book. No other language has that kind of power. Plus it's fast and scales well when there's a lot of use, unlike Node.js.
How much effort will this course take?
Barely any! I've taught thousands of people how to program using Python and I've designed a perfect beginner course. I expect this course to take you about 7 hours in total, that's including all the small tasks at the end of almost every lesson and the final project.
Why Kalob as your instructor?
Hello, I'm Kalob, your instructor through Python 101. I'm a seasoned Python programmer, senior web developer, and have taught tens of thousands of people how to code using Python. I have helped people learn to make websites with absolutely no prior experience and then helped them land their first job at companies like Google, AWS, Facebook, Netflix, and more.
I write Python every day, even for my hobby projects. It's my #1 choice for a programming language and I'm passionate about it. And once you start learning Python, I'm confident you'll be passionate about it as well.
Can I take this class if I'm on Windows, macOS, or Linux?
Yes, of course, you can! There are only a few small cases where you would do things differently on Windows than on macOS, and I show you all the commands for every operating system in this course.
Heads up! macOS and Linux are very similar operating systems behind the scenes. So we only need to cover one of them to learn both. Windows is the oddball, but it's still supported in this course.
Requirements:
You will need a few things to get started in this course. First, a text editor like VS Code. And then you'll need to download and install Python.
Download VS Code for free
Download Python for free
Thank you for reading through this course description. I hope you choose Python as your programming language — if you do, I promise you won't regret it.
Happy coding!

I just finished this excellent introduction to Python that took me only a few hours to complete. I wrote down every example and ran all the code examples, even while he talked and did the final rock, paper, scissor project myself in no time and it just worked. I do have experience with other programming languages as a hobbyist though, but this is the first time I have even looked at Python and I only heard about Python two days ago, but already now I can move on to more advanced subjects. A day well spend! The teacher is easy to hear and understand and he definitely knows his stuff. The tutorials are perfectly short and well planned. I will buy this teachers next Python tutorial now that I have learned the beginner stuff.

Signing up with Udemy in general classifies you as a self-learner. This is mandatory with all the lessons and courses you attend. Overall, Kalob does his best in teaching the most introductory techniques and it is up to you, the user, to be able to comprehend. 2 thumbs up

I'm Surprised how easily I became "Zero to hero". I really enjoying myself so far and learning a lot

This is a well done intro course. I followed along with his examples and practiced them while watching the videos. When i came to the final project, I was a bit intimidated at first as to where to start. Having all the tools from each lesson, I was able to make my project without seeing his code first. That was really exiting! We both did it very different ways and his was a bit simpler. This course was very enjoyable and easy to follow.

Suitable for pure beginners in Python but I kind of encountering install problems since I am using Microsoft Surface. Anyways I did some search and figured that out there are some details for Windows users to follow. It shall be more helpful if having an manual for installment cause real beginners may be struggled at this part. Overall it's a good course.

Maybe that could be much more easier if there is a language option. Because I can't find and take these courses for my language.

A very boring course without any enthusiasm and challenges to make us enjoy

Simple course for total begginers, it doesn't goes into OOP, but I liked how Jacob explains. I would reccomend it as a first approach to Python

This is the second Python course I've ever done, and the content was logically set out and well-explained by Kalob, who was very engaging and clear. I really enjoyed the lessons and now learning Python is not as intimidating as I once thought. :)
