Mashrur Hossain
Hi, I'm Mashrur, I'm a full-time programming instructor specializing in programming fundamentals, web application development, machine learning and cyber security. I have been a technology professional for over a decade and have degrees in Computer Science and Economics.
My niche is building comprehensive career focused technology courses for students entering new/complex and challenging fields in today's technology space. This is a nice segway for me, since my real passion is building and tinkering with programming languages. I love everything to do with development and learning about new tools and technologies. My favorite languages are Python and Ruby on Rails, and my favorite tech fields are web app development, machine learning and data-analytics (which is where Ruby on Rails and Python fall into place nicely). I encourage my students to focus on these technologies as well.
In my past (corporate) life, I worked with Enterprise Software Systems with roles played in analysis, development, management and training. I led projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies and thus am well versed in the inner workings of the software development and delivery world.

The course explains in detail on what is covered. The thinking process and coding of complex data structure were very well explained, and this is very important. This has helped a lot in understanding data structure and algorithm. Visualization is also the key strength of the course. I would have given a 5-star rating *on the content that is presented* as it's done very well -- clear explanation, visualization, thinking process. Unfortunately, as a whole, the course could use more refinement as it does not cover many topics in Data Structures and Algorithms (e.g. Graph, Linked List, some sorting algorithms). If the course covered contents in more comprehensive manner, this course would definitely be a 5-star rating.

Great course up to where I have accomplished. Really clear explanations of the concepts without without neglecting some depth. The examples provided are enough to underpin the subjects and there are quizzes, coding exercises and challenges for each one of the lessons. Really recommendable course in general to learn not only python but also the underlying concepts of all the programming languages.

Having worked as mainly a C++ developer (with related technologies) over a few years, I am now trying to shift fields toward Data Science and Machine Learning. This course has helped me get started in Python and as a refresher for algorithms. It contains enough exercises to make sure that the lessons sink in and keep you engaged. I find that this is the most engaging and worthwhile course that I have taken yet, as I have started multiple ones. Most are less condensed (wasting time) or provide too much overview without making sure that in-depth understanding comes along. Yes, this is largely an introductory course but does so most efficiently.

Mashrur does a great job, as always, and while I can't say I "learned" (that's going to take much more practice) it all I was definitely exposed to useful Python tools and content. Section 5 is challenging to start with and finishes on the extremely challenging side of things. The final project is going to take a couple of days just to process and wrap my head around, but I look forward to giving it a shot.

I really enjoyed this course and Mashrur's teaching style. One of the things I liked the most was how constantly enthusiastic and encouraging Mashrur was; you could always hear it in his voice. This kind of positivity is really important and I appreciated it. The course content was awesome and very valuable. I would personally say that although the course reviews the basics of coding, I would not recommend this as a beginner for their first course to learn python. I feel as though there are other courses/approaches to learning python that are more thorough and beginner friendly/basic. I came at this with intermediate level of python experience and i watched the entire first section for a good recap and even learned a few new things. overall, awesome course!

The instructor is clearly well versed in this in this topic. I am still taking the course, however, I must the concepts are sinking in very well. The instructors provides clear cut examples per topic and he uses the divide and conquer method as he goes along which makes the material very digestible. Yes, there is a lot to be covered , but do bare mind these concepts will haunt you in your programming. Nonetheless, the course is A1. Also, I forgot to mention the instructor gives mini quizzes to reinforce concepts you have and coding exercises at the end of module , and some cool projects as well.

This is an outstanding course. Although I was already relatively competent in Python, I had learnt "on the go" and had never taken a formal course, hence I was not familiar with many of the underlying paradigms such as the difference between tuples and lists for example, or the various methods for lists, set, dictionaries and tuples. This course has served to give me a complete understanding of the Python language. Furthermore, Mashrur is an outstanding instructor who is very adept at explaining each concept clearly with accompanying examples in code. Overall, a course that I would highly recommend to anyone, even if they are knowledgeable about Python.

Good course. Python practice explanations are clear and to date. Mashrur always answered each and every question I post. The coverage can be more in-depth theoretically and interesting though, there is only cursory mention of time and space complexity of algorithms. Help me learn python from beginner to early intermediate well!
By Alejandro Crespo on 8/31/2019
The course starts off with a great intro to the basics of Python the author does a great job at explaining how to accomplish something in multiple ways, lost of projects based and the constant exercise, quiz helps tremendously with keeping the user occupy and thinking. This is a great course for beginners and those with some experience under their belt.
By Vlad Damian on 8/29/2019
The course started out well but the last two section barely had no student coding involved and the quizzes were often simplistic with the questions they had. Would of been nice to have some of the assignments and coding exercises from section 3 to show up in sections 4 and 5.
