What is R and why is it useful?
The R programming language was created specifically for statistical programming. Many find it useful for data handling, cleaning, analysis, and representation. R is also a popular language for data science projects. Much of the data used for data science can be messy and complex. The programming language has features and libraries available geared toward cleaning up unorganized data and making complex data structures easier to handle that can't be found in other languages. It also provides powerful data visualization tools to help data scientists find patterns in large sets of data and present the results in expressive reports. Machine learning is another area where the R language is useful. R gives developers an extensive selection of machine learning libraries that will help them find trends in data and predict future events.
What careers use R?
R is a popular programming language for data science, business intelligence, and financial analysis. Academic, scientific, and non-profit researchers use the R language to glean answers from data. R is also widely used in market research and advertising to analyze the results of marketing campaigns and user data. The language is used in quantitative analysis, where its data analysis capabilities give financial experts the tools they need to manage portfolios of stocks, bonds, and other assets. Data scientists use R in many industries to turn data into insights and predict future trends with its machine learning capabilities. Data analysts use R to extract data, analyze it, and turn it into reports that can help enterprises make better business decisions. Data visualization experts use R to turn data into visually appealing graphs and charts.
Is R difficult to learn?
Whether R is hard to learn depends on your experience. After all, R is a programming language designed for mathematicians, statisticians, and business analysts who may have no coding experience. For some beginning users, it is relatively simple to learn R. It can have a learning curve if you are a business analyst who is only familiar with graphical user interfaces since R is a text-based programming language. But compared to other programming languages, users usually find R easier to understand. R also may have an unfamiliar syntax for programmers who are used to other programming languages, but once they learn the syntax, the learning process becomes more straightforward. Beginners will also find that having some knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and probabilities makes learning R easier.
It’s no secret how technology is advancing at a rapid rate. New tools are released every day, and it’s crucial to stay on top of the latest knowledge. You will always have up-to-date content to this course at no extra charge.

The course presented useful information, but the pace was too fast for someone completely new to the subject. It also introduced extra details before the basics were clear, which made it difficult to follow. More time spent explaining foundational concepts, along with a few interactive exercises, would make the course more helpful for beginners.

The pace was good and it was easy to understand and follow along. The exercises were challenging, but within the scope of the lessons.

I have not worked in an environment like this since about 1985, long time ago. I used SAS in a VM CMS environment to analyse data from geological exploration work. This R environment is similar but I need to learn it from scratch, the course provides a good grounding in the methods that I anticipate needing as I go forward. Its best to have the application open alongside the tutorial and to enter each example and duplicate it, I quickly learned that I could not accurately copy text :-( The devil is in the detail. I have found that as I do each module a review of various text books that use R to explain their content is useful. I re-visit parts of the course as I do this to reinforce my learning. It also enriches the process as I learn new insights and functions from the books I refer to. There are numerous pdf copies of books about R or using R to demonstrate the subject. I have now completed the course, it definitely projects me from total lack of ability in this environment to a point where I can perform significant analyses and tests on large data sets quite rapidly and with relative ease. It also opened my eyes to a field called machine learning - multi dimensional market space models were a thing to dream about when I worked in that field. Today it seems the machine can apply regression tools (decision trees) to arrive at data segmentation and categorization. So thank you not only for the taught content, but also for the expansion of my knowledge base and a whole new field to explore.

Good course for a start. There are a few things in the experiential learning which might not have been taught in the preceding sections and I had to search elsewhere for the required functions/methods, but I guess that's the way to self learn anything. I'd say it has been a useful course.

Excellent course!! The instructor is very knowledgeable about the R programming language and presents the concepts in a detailed and methodical manner. Topics are introduced, then explained in detail, followed with step-by-step tutorial style demonstrations that further reinforce it's implementation. I am confident in the knowledge being gained from the course.

I was able to follow the content up until section 7. While the lecturer provides great insight on the functionalities of R Studio, I struggled understanding his explanation on the later half of the course. While I was able to display my knowledge on basic lines of code, I still need a clearer explanation on certain functions.

As an introductory course to R, this is an excellent course for the beginner who just getting use to R and its wonderful packages. Instructor conveying his experience through hands on examples. However, it would be a perfect introductory course if it is extened bit more. Great course overall. Keep up the awesome teaching guys!
