Course Description

Nine out of ten healthcare administration employees report that they wish they had learned more about revenue cycle management, healthcare finance, and big data analytics during their graduate studies. Rev Cycle Ready was created to bridge that gap. Whether you're new to the field or already working in a healthcare setting, this course equips you with the practical knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s data-driven, financially complex healthcare landscape.

This course takes a deep dive into the fundamental components of the healthcare revenue cycle—including RVUs, denials, write-offs, accounts receivable (AR), and reimbursement workflows—helping students understand how money flows through a healthcare organization. You’ll gain insight into how financial decisions impact operations and how revenue cycle performance ties directly to patient care quality and organizational sustainability.

In addition, students will explore the role of big data in the revenue cycle, using analytics to identify areas of opportunity, improve KPIs, and drive smarter decision-making. Through case studies, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises, you'll build confidence in key concepts that are often overlooked in traditional coursework.

By the end of this course, you’ll be better prepared to add immediate value to your organization and pursue roles in healthcare revenue cycle, operations, finance, or data analytics.

The Denials Ready portion was beyond my expectations. It will allow me to finally understand how to manipulate and pull data for my role with denials in a hospital setting.

I learned a lot in this course. However, the sound quality was very poor and the presenters mumbled a lot. They also didn't seem entirely prepared - the content seemed to jump around and the data sometimes caught them by surprise.

As someone who has worked with health claims data but not specifically with a "Rev Cycle" title, I learned a lot about how to organize the data /fields I know in ways that would make a difference on this kind of team. Being familiar with claims data and pivot tables beforehand definitely helped. I agree with the commenter who suggested a takeaway tip sheet as a downloadable resource; would be great if possible!!

I learned some much from this course that can help me succeed at a healthcare organization. I gained a better understanding of how to use excel to do deep data analysis and I feel confident enough to apply for revenue cycle roles!

This is very helpful for RCM, Office, and Practice managers. I really enjoyed this lesson overall. Some of the excel teachings are a little fast glad I could rewatch it. I think a video or page of tips and tricks used to create spreadsheets would be helpful.

Overall the information provided as part of the course was excellent. The video quality when it came to volume was lacking. At the beginning of the course, I was able to hear without any issues as I transitioned to the end I was unable to hear and I had my volume turned up to the highest setting on my laptop.

In completion of this course I am educated on the fundamentals of the healthcare finance and revenue cycle. Additional analysis examples would have been helpful.

so far I have been learning without any hesitation. But, I am expecting a workshop on how to improve the current flow of 3rd party RCM companies used to solve their demands by the payer. again thanks for the tools and tips.

This is very comprehensive course, and densely packed with information that you would need in real life in RCM business. Though it would nice if there was initial quick chapter on the basics of billing documents/forms, and what kind of procedures/care covered by which type of insurance etc. for example, Ambulatory procedures covered by Medicare A or B. Observation stay, medicare A or B. Or just have document uploaded on the course so students can refer to it. This information comes handy when you are taking AAHAM or MGMA certificate exams. Still overall, pretty good course. thanks.
