Content and Overview

This course is divided into five parts:

Part 1: An Overview to Running – Here you will get a historical overview to running and understand how it is the most affordable sport requiring negligible investment. You will also get a sense of the benefits running can bring to you and to your social life.

Part 2: Prepare Yourself to Run – Here together, we will examine the running essentials and see how 3-4 days of running per the plan can improve the quality of your life. We will also see the importance of setting realistic achievable targets and why 10K is the ideal distance for anybody aspiring to be fit and with a little bit of challenge thrown in!

Part 3: Nutrition and Sleep – Here, we will talk about what to eat, what not to eat, how much to eat, and at what time. You will also see how some specific foods are well suited to the sport of running and their role in quick recovery. We will also touch upon sleep and the myriad benefits it brings.

Part 4: Training Plan and Exercises – This is the engine of the course which talks in detail about the plan you will be following for the next 8 weeks. Besides run days, we will be talking about the importance of rest days and cross training days. While running causes some amount of wear and tear, what we eat and how we strength train our body for optimal returns, results in a totally injury-free running experience.

Part 5: The Zen of Running – This part includes important considerations that we don’t often talk about in the context of running. Here we will be talking about things like how to run for the joy of running and not make it a slugfest of timing and distances, how to incorporate yoga practices to truly experience total bliss in the state of running, and more.

good basic information but nothing mind shattering :-)

By Anant Sethia on 3/9/2018

It is a short and sweet course, just the right quality and volume of information I need to get started. I have also read many examples of a plant-based diet being generally good for the body and from this course I learned about a general plant diet plan for runners. Would be great if you could share some recipes, even as an article would be useful.

By Ben Christensen on 2/14/2018

Really easy to follow guidelines and information presented. I listened to this driving to work and didn’t feel a need to watch any of the videos (perfect for me).

By De'Mario Edwards on 1/14/2018

This is a well rounded approach to be becoming a compentent, healthy runner. The training schedule is particularly useful, although I would strongly recommend to all to keep your rest day on Saturday. It's backed up by very useful tips and explanations on how factors such as nutrition, sleep, attitude and strentgh training affect your success as a runner. Shalom.

After doing this course I realize that running is indeed the most affordable form of fitness with minimal investment. I like the nutrition tips, they make sense. I like the fact that nothing unnatural has been suggested so far as nutrition goes, such as enhancers and supplements. The graphics are very engaging. The course sure motivates a couch potato like me to try running.

By Anonymized User on 8/11/2017

I liked this course as it covers all the different aspects related to running and not just the act of running itself. Also that it is a practical and realistic approach to building up to and being able to distance run. The instructor gives sound advice, for example, on the importance of nutrition and sleep as important components directly related to ones health as well as the ability to get physically fit and run.

This is one of the best course for couch to 10k. Tried and tested! This course has helped me a lot in Planning my first 10k and I successfully finished it . This course should be running 101 and further. The insights provided for strength training, nutrition are great. Would 100% recommend it if somebody is getting started with running.

I have recently taken into trekking in the Himalayas. I have done a few easy treks with not much preparation. I plan to do the more difficult ones. For all such treks, you need to prepare your body. The recommendation is to run 5 Km in 30 min. Hence I took this course. The course is extremely well designed. It is thoroughly engaging through the effective use of videos and visuals. Found the tips really very useful and easily applicable. I would highly recommend this to anyone who plans to start running.

My son and I watched these videos together. When I ran my first 10K about five years ago, I did not collect half as much information or even do half the things the trainer has suggested. Somehow I scrambled to the finish after a few weeks of taking a whole lot of unnecessary stress! Good job done of packaging together a whole lot of necessary information for a beginner runner. My son can benefit.

I have attempted to run for fitness at least two times in the past, discontinued because I was fatigued and that demotivated me. I am once again inspired to run, this time I will use tips from this course to stay mentally strong. I want to also experiment with the plant-powered approach. Overall, liked the look and feel of the course. Just an update - I did a 10K last month, I feel jubilant!
