Serverless using AWS Lambda for Python Developers (Udemy.com)

Course gives a good overview of AWS Serverless concepts. But it could be even more better if you explain API GATEWAY in more detailed. Even though Lambda is the center point of the course, APIGW is necessary one in Serverless. Cold Start definition you provided in the section is not appropriate as in AWS Documentation. Also in real world scenario, SQS is the one used for DLQ. Provide more sections in those area, so it will be complete pack of AWS Serverless with Python.

The instructor provides clear explanations and helpful code samples for each use case. However, the section on AWS SAM feels outdated. Given the growing popularity and flexibility of AWS CDK for building cloud components, it would be beneficial to update the course to reflect current best practices.

Bharath covered the sam topics nicely and hands-on projects were also good. however the content is old and there are lot of new features available as a part of sam now .it would be great if Instructor can upload few videos based on current version of sam overall satisfactory.

Pros: 1. Great course for introducing AWS Lambda serverless concepts, theory and its practical implementations. 2. Instructor goes at length for automating the Lambda coding (IaC) via SAM cli. Mainly, I liked the template formation part the most. 3. Course does have 3 major comprehensive projects, 5 assignments and 5 Quizes to validate your understanding. Cons: * Although, this course has greatly helped in achieving IaC/templating like understanding of Serverless (SAM-->CFT), it lacks in explaining why are we doing what steps we are doing. * Instructor completely missed out on walking learners through SAM developer guide and Boto3 API guide for explaining which methods were used and why, and fetching/manipulating their API response in the function. * He just says that. He could have used more reasoning for each line of code, carefully explaining with no Boto3 API background, enabling them to take on any new challenge in serverless without worry.

Best course I've taken on udemy. This course is up to date as of July 2023. The course is thorough. The only (very minor) negative is the section code isn't attached to each video. I spent some time scrolling back and forth in the video looking for my errors as compared to the instructors code.

O curso é enxuto, direto ao ponto e prático. Isso é muito positivo no mundo dinâmico que vivemos. Senti falta de escrita mais coesa. Há muita repetição de código, muito acesso a parâmetros sem validação e pouco tratamento de erro. Se tivesse isso, teria sido 5 estrelas.

I can't say enough how concise and to-the-point the course was. It gave a very good picture of AWS Lambda, especially loved the course structure, each project dealing with a lambda invocations mode. You get to see how in couple of minutes you can have a REST API set up. Thank you Bharath!

This course is ultimate for any beginner to start to learn and build serverless applications. I have taken many courses from Bharath sir for Java full stack development, all were very knowledgeable and fantastic. Once again this course helped me a lot in SAM CLI and serverless templates in python. Thanks again for upskilling and increasing my learning curve.

Great overview of SAM and Lambda. The examples were good enough to convey the concept, but it would be much better and impactful course to have a fully functional mini application / project incorporating everything taught here.

If some one wants to learn Lambda serverless with short period of time like within 3 days , this course is a must and its with the right pace and dose of information without overloading. Especially thanks to bharath for doing with python examples as one can write 10 lines of code instead of 100 lines in java for the same functionality. I do have few suggestion for this course to make more inclusive cases like 1)How to call other API's within AWS from Lambda and public API's in internet from lambda. 2)how to setup authorization for lambda/API gate way so that within aws or outside of aws can make a request. 3) Lambda orchestration. 4) Usecases showing comparision between SAM and terraform for infrastructure creation. 5) How to maintain SAM template along with code in GIT and setting up code pipeline for production issuance.
