Course Description

  • Test cases are very important for any project as this is the first step in any testing cycle, and if anything goes wrong at this step, the impacts get extrapolated as you move forward in the software testing life-cycle.

  • Knowing how to write good test cases is extremely important for you as a testing resource and believe you me, it doesn’t take too much of your effort and time to write effective test scripts! You just need to follow certain guidelines while writing test cases or as they call it – follow “test case writing best practices.”

In this course, I am going to talk about some simple yet effective tips which you could use for writing effective test cases.

Test case writing is an activity which has a great impact on the testing phase and this makes test cases an important part of the test execution process!

So, writing test cases which are effective as well as reusable is very important; good test cases save a lot of time in the later stages of testing (really!) if you do it right in the first attempt…

Effective Test Cases writing is a skill and you can acquire it only with practice and in-depth understanding of the application for which test cases are being written.

Incorporating some simple tips I have given here will help you master the skill of test case writing.

Honestly I didn’t learn any more than I have already discovered elsewhere on the internet - YouTube, LinkedIn, etc for free. Far too short and minimal to be of any value to anyone. Should have fully completed real world examples to show in the videos and not just talk about them. He mentions medical and insurance applications. He should show fully worked out sets of complete test cases for each application. Up to and including test cases related to real world application security scenarios. It is like a very basic first year college level lecture. Not worth paying any money for this course as it is too minimal/basic to have any real benefit to anyone who would face any kind of beginner level interview.

I find this course extremely useful. Every point is described clearly. An addition of two to four questions after every video will add some more time to complete the course but it will be the instant test of the learner knowledge. Thank you for providing a terse presentation and I hope to get more from your side as new courses. Warm regards

Although I already learned how to create a test case, this course was very helpful in showing me new ways to improve a test case even further. Thanks to the instructor, his didactics greatly facilitates the understanding of the presented topics. I recommend this course!

Good until a little more than halfway through the presenter changed his inflection. This sudden change become so distracting that I couldn't finish the course. As I seasoned instructor with thousands of hours in the classroom I advise the presenter to redo the presentation - your natural speaking patterns are fine! You're easy to understand. There was no reason to change the way you presented the remaining lessons.

Now I know what Acceptance Testing is!!!! (and how to get started) Needs updating, though. 500 acceptance tests that take 10 hours to run? More current perspective would also have less need for priorities, etc. I also had to search to find out what the LifeCycle Management site in the last section even was.

The content is there, but I expected a bit more from this course, e.g. examples of the rules in real-life environments, applications. The only thing that made the course hard to listen was the rising intonation of the trainer in the majority of sentences. Unfortunately, it made me focus more on that than the content of the course.

His accent and inflection makes this a bit difficult for American English speakers to understand. However, the content is good, and he performs live demos of what he is teaching, aiding in the understanding of the course material. This is a very basic approach to writing test cases, and is great for those beginning a career in software QA or those looking for a quick brush up.

I enjoyed the course. I am currently working with ALM- with this course I realised there were some functionality that I was aware of (Run test sets), helps to update the tests in bulk. I believe what I learnt will be really helpful in my day to day role. The Instructor is also knowledgeable and the course content is very useful

By Kubi Keyes on 3/20/2017

This course was very good because the facilitator applied easy to learn techniques on how to document, track and maintain test cases. It was most informative to be exposed to ALM and other tools the industry uses for manual testing. The presentation was not boring and encourages you to practice.

By Manju on 10/3/2016

I learned a better way to write test cases and how to use ALM tool that is used widely in the market. Love this course. Please let me know if you are teaching performance testing using Load runner. I love to learn load runner the same simple and easy way. Thank you for making the testing so easy.
