This is the second of four levels in Peter Hanley's spoken Spanish series, and it assumes you finished level 1. The syllabus shows 20 lessons of roughly 7 to 17 minutes each, about 4 hours across 53 lectures, with written exercises after each lesson. The idea is to speak almost the whole time and pick up structures through repetition, not rules. It is aimed at absolute beginners, brush-up learners and people heading to a Spanish-speaking country who want practical phrases fast.

Reviewers like the rhythm. Several mention constant recap, new words dropped in at a pace that feels stimulating but not overwhelming, and the two different voices saying each phrase. One student came back about a month and a half after level 1 and says nothing had faded. Students describe the teaching as easy to follow and well structured. The complaints are mild. A self-described false beginner says object pronouns are not covered clearly and that a true beginner might struggle. Another reviewer, writing in Spanish, finds the literal translations unhelpful for everyday conversation.

I left this rating because I am a false beginner. For a complete beginner, it would be challenging particularly the object pronouns. Not so clearly covered? although the emphasis on repetition and speaking does seem to work quite well

A perfect way to speed up learning Spanish. You omit unnecessary time consuming grammar. Skipping explicit grammar drills in favor of intuitive, context-based exposure relies on natural acquisition, similar to how children learn. You get all the best in thies cours and you get better in Spanish.

Course really does make you feel like you're winning from the beginning - lots of recap, new vocabulary introduced at a rate that feels stimulating but not overwhelming, and you genuinely do learn basic spanish extremely rapidly. Cannot recommend enough for anyone looking to learn some beginner espagnol!

In a matter of a week, my pronunciation improved dramatically, for example I couldn't say cerveza properly for a few days. Also the lessons are short enough to not become overwhelming. the key is to practice everyday.

This course is great, but I am a bit confused from the previous lesson. I thought that we conjugate comer → comiendo and say, "estoy comiendo" to say "I am eating it", but the video says its just lo como--isn't that the same as "I eat"?
