Great learning with this course. I already speak Italian as a second language and because of the overlap between the languages, I was constantly making mistakes despite having a good vocabulary and pronunciation. I needed lots of repetitive practice to get a firm foundation to Spanish. This course does the trick!

I have tried a couple of different language classes earlier and Peter's course is by far the best pick. I have already finished beginners' level 1-4 and this first intermediate one and I still love it. The real strength of this course is the focus on speaking, not just understanding the language. Highly recommended.

I just love this course so much. I’m making great progress and the whole structure just keeps me highly motivated as it’s really funny sometimes as well. And I really appreciate this approach. Learning a language should be fun and engaging and El método totally slays. If you're looking for something fancy, you're not going to find that here. What this professor gives you is a method (Title: El Metodo go figure) that allows you to learn Spanish faster. It's very interesting how he does this and to me it takes someone who has a natural knack to teach this way. I liked how he'd smoothly throw in past lessons in another lesson to keep you up to par amongst many other subtle things in the program that keeps things sticking. My tip while taking this course is to watch movies in Spanish (you pick what type of subtitles you want) with the intention of seeing how much you understand to reinforce what you have already learned. I've bought or enrolled in many of the "highly rated" online courses and this one takes it for me when it comes to learning and speaking the language sooner. The other language courses (Duolingo, RocketSpanish, Pimsleur, even Baselang) didn't give me the confidence of speaking Spanish right away. Side note: NewsInSlowSpanish was a great beginner course as well, but I'd probably do that after completing the El Metodo beginner course first. Anyways, I live and work in an area with predominantly Spanish speaking people and while attending this course I found myself brave enough to start speaking Spanish to people. Today I have finally completed the course utilizing the method they recommended and am excited to see what other courses they come up with next. I am a forever student of the El Metodo for sure!

Brilliant course and method. It is so well structured and well taught. It has everything - hearing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, writing and reading. It gives a fantastic Spanish foundation. And when you have learned other things, you can come back to this for an effective refresher. 5 stars. I hope there is another set of courses created to take after Intermediate.

Course is overall very good. Starts and ends with scenic pictures of places in Spain, sometimes with author or his daughter, the female native speaker of the course, in the picture. Makes one wants to travel more post-pandemic. Very interactive. Breaks down the language into pieces and builds up gradually. Gives the sounds and the text of the language, usually with both voices. Each voice helpful as the author Peter speaks clearly with a very good accent, while Jessica is a native speaker of Spain. The time trials give practice for reasonable response times to make sure one can really use the phrases and concepts. Also, when relevant the Latin American word or alternative choice is given, say coche/carro. I'm looking forward to further levels as much more of the Spanish grammatical skeleton remains to be covered. Hopefully intermediate 4 will be out shortly.

Very nice course. Hope the last few parts include time series too, and there're more written exercises (not just a repetition of what's in the lecture, which is also necessary though). In general, great course and I've learned a lot!
