Course Description
If you spend a lot of time extracting, transforming, or analyzing data from databases, - or you're aiming for one of the many highly paid career paths that rely heavily on this skill - then this course is for you.
Learning to query databases with SQL is a substantial part of highly paid careers such as Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Analyst, but also provides a strong foundation for even more exotic roles like that of a Data Scientist. Experienced Data Scientists will tell you that the majority of their time isn't spent tuning machine learning algorithms, but rather preparing and cleaning data for use by those algorithms - something SQL does exceptionally well.
In this course, I have tried to avoid simply regurgitating an encyclopedia of facts about SQL, an approach that is all too common in introductory books and courses on programming. Instead, I carefully curated certain concepts and techniques that I have found to provide the most "bang for your buck" over my decade of experience as a data professional.
This enabled me to condense a complete course on SQL into just 36 instructional videos, averaging less than 10 minutes in length. So if you can commit to a video a day, in just over one month you’ll have added an extremely valuable and lucrative skill to your arsenal (and just as importantly, your resume!).
And to make sure all that knowledge sticks, I’ve included exercises...LOTS of exercises. Unlike most courses, which only feature sporadic opportunities to practice what you’ve learned, this course has practice problems after almost every video - so you can reinforce concepts right away.
Take it from someone who has built their career almost entirely on self-taught technical skills: it’s worth the effort. Several recent surveys have shown that SQL is actually the MOST in-demand tech skill sought after by recruiters!
In short, learning SQL can change your life, if you put in the work Let me be your guide to this next step in your career - I think you’ll find the journey a lot less daunting, and maybe even a little more fun, than you would have ever expected.

Travis Cuzick
Hi, I’m Travis. I’ve spent well over a decade architecting and coding data solutions - and training others to do the same - for Fortune 100 companies and small businesses alike. In that time, I’ve mastered programming languages such as SQL, VBA, Python, Javascript, and more...but it wasn’t always easy.
As a self-taught developer, I understand how hard it can be to learn highly technical subjects on your own. And I am passionate about making this process as efficient, intuitive, and fun (yes, fun!) for my students as possible.
I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned about programming (AND learning!) over the course of my career, to help you reach the next step of yours.

This was an excellent course! The content was clearly presented with relatable examples. Each new skill/concept was supported with an accompanying exercise allowing for a more solid understanding of the content. I now have a strong foundation for SQL coding and easy reference points should I need a refresher. The only issue was buffering, which became a bit frustrating at points during the course. Otherwise, I would recommend! Many thanks to Mr. Travis Cuzick!

I feel like I have been learning a lot - love the video and then the small exercise to really check if you understand what is going on. I like the active learning.

When it came time to connect to the database (after installing SQL Server Management Studio), I received an error upon trying to connect to the database. After tinkering around with the optional connection settings, I was then able to connect to the database. The default connection parameters after install of SSMS did not work. I had to disable Mandatory encryption, and make it optional. After doing that, the database connection worked.

Amazing course. The way Travis explains things is very comfortable and easy to understand. The practice section felt really good so we can put our knowledge to the test. The route he took to teach each component of a query to cover all the basics made me understand better SQL in general and I consider this course one of my favorites.

Just the SQL course I needed! After learning the basics, it is important to understand and critically think on how it is applied in the real world scenarios to solve business problems. I truly believe that this course has taken my SQL skills to a new level. Thank you Travis for creating this amazing course.

I'm a beginner at SQL. I found this course easy to follow and the instruction fun and entertaining. Some of the concepts were a little challenging to wrap my head around at first, but the beauty of this type of learning is that I could go back to anything that didn't make sense the first time around. The exercises throughout the course were also extremely useful - although there were a few small errors here and there. Overall, after finishing the course I feel that I now have a strong foundation in SQL on which I can keep building. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone new to SQL like me.

Fantastic course!!!! I have a ton of courses and no course is as detailed without the complex explanations like this course that Travis has created. I have taken sql in college and this course alone blows that college course out of this world. I have also registered for all of his other courses and looking forward to the advanced sql course and understanding window functions and other advanced topics. Thanks!!!!

Travis is an excellent teacher. He explains concepts thoroughly, in easily understandable language. By far the best part about this course is the amount of practice exercises. If you're anything like me, you need a ton of practice to truly master these skills. These exercises were why I decided to purchase this particular class, and I'm glad I did.

This is one of my favorite courses I have taken to date. Instructor Travis Cuzick explains all concepts in a very clear and concise manner. Each lecture is then followed by very practical examples, in order to solidify the student's understanding. I am very satisfied with the value of what I learned from this course and highly recommend it to others. I look forward to completing this instructor's "Advance SQL Server Master Class for Data Analysis" class next. I hope to see even more programming course content, from this instructor, in the future.
