This course was way to basic for me, and that may have be my fault. It would be a good class if you had no experience in home recording. However, I feel anyone who already recorded at home, with Garage band, etc, would pretty much know 90% of this, or could easily assume what would be needed. As with most classes, I believe you are somewhat knowledgeable on the topic, but you find your will learn things you didnt know. which is why I took this. Unfortunately, I did not find anything useful. I am not trying to trash the class, on the contrary, a lot was covered. But I found it to be all on the simplest of the basics. Which is not bad if you are starting cold.

Very good course. I went from not knowing what I want and how to go about finding out to learning about what the essentials are, how to lay them out and how to effectively use them. Thank you.

I like how the instructor discus ses how to figure out what your needs are for your home studio to get a baseline or a beginning point of what you need. Some of the items were a little above my head but for the most part gave me things to look for when purchasing equipment and ideas on what would be necessary to get a clean sound. Thanks.

I've learned A LOT!!! I came into this a total neophyte, this course is great! Wiring, placement of equipment, ways to reduce sound bouncing, why soundproofing is NOT an option, equipment types, recommended models and features to start with, software, type of microphones, and lots more. Very good course.

I bought this course because i don't trust free advice from youtube influencers. Influencers share links to amazn and recieve profit off of your purchase or they reccomend companies that paid them to 'advertise'. some of them are very young in the game, and USUALLY do not even own the items they are suggesting, and if they do (it's suspiciously new). The money is well worth Jason walking me through and giving STRAIGHT answers and suggestions. He helped cut my start up cost as i was confused after endless youtube videos. I have an appropriate start up wish list, and i am very pleased with his intent. He did suggest maybe 1 brand name audio interface, but he explained that it was popular among his students and it is a fair price. Jason never shared "links" or offered "codes". His suggestions were very genuine and the only profit he makes is off of the payment for the course. He only suggested necessities, and you can follow up with cool gadgets afterwards. Really, it was worth it. I know EXACTLY what i want, what i am looking for, and how to follow up.

J covers the essentials for the average person to build a home studio - from software/equipment to layout/furniture/wall padding. Of most interest to me, is coverage of equipment that I've been struggling to find, because I didn't know the right keywords to search for. This course even helped me re-think how I want to approach mixing my digital instruments. Highly recommended.

By Jose A Ruiz-Marquez on 5/2/2020

Simple and to the point, I can start building my studio knowing that I only need a couple of computer monitors, a Furman, and a better set of studio monitors. All the other stuff he recommended I have it. Thanks to Jay everything came together real quick. Being a drummer looking to record using a Pearl Mimic Pro module and other electronic percussion gear he made me realize my studio was about 85% done and helped me make simpler decisions to get everything going!

Nice introduction to the topic for a beginner like me. Not very much information on products branding though and I found the course a bit superficial. I usually don't buy cheap courses even at discount prices because of the lack of content. It is nonetheless full of useful tips for understanding the topic.

By Srinivasan Bhavani on 4/23/2020

Awesome. Jason is clear, concise and talks about all the things that any person with no prior experience in this, can benefit from, (and definitely helps in avoiding making expensive mistakes). Sooper Interesting too!!!
