Pros:
- I picked up some useful tips about EQ and compressing tracks. Then again, there are comments that explain why the methods in this course are not entirely correct.
Cons
- Slow-paced and a lot of redundant information. A lot of stuff could have simply been cut away.
- Very unprofessional at times: poor voice recording quality, phone going off, showing things in his messy studio.
- The song he was working on was not enjoyable to listen too. At least some more diversity would have been nice. I don't mind EDM, but a generic track would have been a better example to work with.
- The number one disappointment: lots of techniques and tips where given such as "technique/effect X is very good when using instrument Y", while there is no Y present in the tracks. So many ideas were never explained through example. Especially near the end where he mentions guitars, acoustic drums, vocals, etc.
I got this for a tenner and I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

A good introduction to mixing.Got me started with all the basic tools like EQ,compressor,Reverbs and Delay.Most of all,this course gave me the right outlook to a music track.The concept of viewing your track in 3D was just amazing!I would definitely recommend this course to beginners.

If you're a beginner to mixing, this provides a really useful framework to structure your approach to a mix.
Many aspects are explained clearly and there are plenty of insightful tips that will undoubtedly improve your sound.
Issues I found ring true with many other reviews about the course:
There is a lot of "dead" time spent searching for tracks/sounds or making decisions on the fly.
The track featured is awful, in my personal opinion. No acoustic examples used, apart from one resample of a synth. Most of the patches used are just busy noise. I found it difficult to enjoy the final version as I had already come to loathe it.
And the most surprising/entertaining issue is how many times he pauses during an explanation to check the phone that's just pinged.
The phone goes off all through the course.
I really can't get my head around why a tutor would make a professional decision to present their work ethic in such a manner.
But as said initially, you will learn from the course, so definitely worth the (sale price!) money.

After this, I have organized all the steps needed for mixing in my head. I am not afraid to finish my beats, although this class is in Ableton live 10 and not FL Studio that I am working to... Anyway, happy to have watched this.

talk faster, work out the redundancies, and get to the point, please. somewhat obvious and repetitive at times, but also does include useful and practical information and perspective.

I'm sorry to give 1 star but this is not a masterclass by a master in mixing. If you know a bit about mixing don't do this course other than test your knowledge against a "Master". I have now graded myself a super extreme Master according to the criteria of the course title. That made it 2 stars not one :)
This should be called : Mixing 101 for ableton EDM producers only with A LOT of misconceptions and a-lot of time spent messing around doing nothing other than to have a 7 HOURS OF MATERIAL sales pitch.
I have a notepad to write down things I learn in a course, I have 3 pages full of errors. If you start off with this as a basis for mixing it will eventually cost more time as you progress. A fue of the mistakes:
-no mention of open backed headphones for mixing
-EQ on a monitor is to compensate for bass reflection in small rooms
-no mention of sound absorption in a studio or bedroom (side wall, roof, bass trapping.
-no mention of gainstaging. This is extremely important to start a mix.
- the phase button, the button, is not meant to make your mix sound wider. It makes your mix sound wider beyond your speaker IF it is out of phase. Nothing is said about what out of phase is, I don't think jason even knows what it is.
-"put a compressor first than eq" NO! You cant say that. The rule is, if it sounds good compress than eq. If it sounds bad EQ then compress (and maybe eq again). If you compress a bad signal you get more bad signal.
-"Glue compressor is an ableton thing, If you don't have one just use a normal compressor"... There are different types of compressors, Optical, Tube, FET VCA. Just type it in google. All can be used differently and have different sounds. Nothing is explained about this.
-"Don't use gate a whole lot in mixing, it's a crude tool" It's crude if you use it wrong. A Gate has a range knob, sort of dry/wet. This let's gated signal pass so it's not so crude.
- The final mix has a high frequency buzz through the whole song. You missed that and call it a masterclass
I could go on and on but you get the point. Please Jason. You are a good teacher in music theory teaching the wrong things. Do more research before giving a class and cut the crap. This course could be shorter without you figuring stuff out as you go along.
Now your just making a quick buck and starting people off on a wrong foot
