This is the Compose part of Abbass Masri's Android 16 series, and it stands on its own if you already know some Kotlin. The syllabus runs 372 lectures over about 29 hours, starting with composables, state and layouts, then stacking up apps: a note app with Room, a news app with Retrofit, a Hilt section, a 300-minute ecommerce build with Firebase, and a long run of Google Maps chapters that ends in an Uber clone. The listing says no programming experience is needed. The reviews suggest that is optimistic, and the Part 2 in the title is a hint.

Reviewers mostly like the teaching. Several say Masri explains concepts in detail, one praises the slow start, and one student who had tried to learn Compose for years says having it explained by someone who knows it helped immensely. The ecommerce app gets singled out as the best stretch. The complaints are specific and repeated: some sections have missing or wrong source code, one reviewer found the ecommerce download was actually a Kotlin/XML project from a different course, and some lectures use outdated APIs. I love this course, and I get along great with the teacher. She makes complex topics clear to me, a beginner. It certainly takes a lot of practice, but the comments are very helpful. When he finishes programming a file, he gives a very helpful summary.

The course starts great, but it is at many steps outdated or wrong. A course has the wrong files, another has an outdated API. The tutor is not responding, therefore the course is a bit unusable as it stands right now

Very good course. It's not a follow along and type what I type kind of course, which is good. You must have an idea of what you are doing. My only critique is that sometimes he changes code outside of the scope of the lesson and doesn't cover the change. It makes troubleshooting real!

I'm only a few chapters in but I can tell this is the best Android course I've ever seen on Udemy. The production value is far superior to any other coding course I've taken. (I've bought over 100 Udemy courses, many of them Android). The instruction is clear and concise. There are example Android projects, and in October of 2025 they work in AS Narwhal with no issues. Most Android courses are frustrating because they are out of date. This course is current in October, 2025. I look forward to doing more courses from this instructor, this is how Android courses should be done!

The presentation is quite good and knowledgeable while promoting engagement into code analysis. There are some presentation, wrongness and readiness issues that may frustrate the viewer, but overall it is very well done and you will be able to develop good android apps.

The course is great for a beginner. It helps you to know compose very well. There are topics like ROOM ,retrofit which is also covered and well explained. This course is very beginner friendly. Help yourself and thank you. I am now up to section 13.
