I did learn a lot but this course could be seriously improved by adding three things. The first is to add a clear reference at the start of each section or video about what LPIC1 exactly expects from you. So we know what to look out for. The second thing is subtitles. Not just because of the accent but generally because technical terms aren't always known and reading them in subtitles could help. Because, and I don't mean to be rude at all, the somewhat strong accent and quite often illegible writing on screen make it hard to know what is meant sometimes. And lastly, some exercises at the end of each video or section would help a lot as well. It would have to be much but just to put the theory into practise can help quite a bit. But still a ton of information in this course and good examples at the end of each video.

By Daniel Garner on 11/27/2021

There is a lot of good information in this course. One downside is that the instructor is doing the course "live". So he will say something is a certain way but depending on the distro that he is using it may not be that way. So he has to backtrack and redo things. It's a bit distracting in that regard.

By Kanwal Jeet Singh on 8/6/2021

The approach was simple and illustrative that is good for beginners. Examples from 2 ditros(Ubuntu & Centos) was a good idea. if you compare it with LPIC curricula course is bit dated and a bit of structuring of the content is needed instead of freestyle writing. Overall very good and informative course to start with.

The instructor is quite fluent with and probably really familiar with Linux systems administration maintenance and development, but as for the audience...we should take the time to get adjusted to the strong hindi accent. Besides that, as i got to the last lessons it became more and more condensed with a lot of really useful and practical tips and tricks although they are part of the exam objectives, still, it was fun to explore and become familiar with those cool Linux commands/programs I can not say as yet how good this course is in terms of LPIC-1 exam preparation course since I haven't taken the 102 exam yet. but taking some mock exams it seems that some additional reading is needed. probably the official "Linux Study Guide" by Roderick Smith might be sufficient in order to achieve a fair passing score.

- Its not really guiding you to step by step rather is set of videos for the certification. - No Quiz at all. - No summery after a lesson. - No mention about exam preparation, ex: how to buy exam voucher(if you buy CompTIA voucher, if you finish it then you can get LPIC without sitting to the exam) - I prefer to test my knowledge after learn a chapter and after all chapters at lease a practice exam. Normally i prefer more interactive mode rather than watching videos. Thats how normally other certification-ready courses do. - Ahmad has a good knowledge about linux have to say that but my feeling is they have to really arrange this course to make it more interactive.

By James Smith on 4/26/2017

The speaker is hard to understand, the handwritten notes are hard to read, and sometimes lessons are confusing as things are explained, then don't work in his own tests. The quality of the audio recordings are shockingly bad, clearly recorded from a laptop' inbuilt microphone and voice is drowned out when the instructor speaks. There is no editing and lectures cut of in the middle of sentences at times. However there are redeeming nuggets of information, but this course in no way prepares you for the exams, as a result I had to cancel the exam I had booked as this course barely covers any of the course outline. I will now have to pay for linuxacademy's course to actually learn things.

By Usama Akkad on 12/17/2016

I'm not native English speaker, but the accent in this video is strong. Also many of the explaining done using hand writing on the screen instead of slides or text files. The man seems to know what he is talking about, I learned good things from it. It could be very useful if you listen carefully.

By Roman Parpyalo on 7/26/2016

the slides written are more often than not barely readable and only seem to add time to the lectures without much added value. The latter subjects were explained well but I fill like not enough uses of them were introduced to the student especially if he is a new user to linux.

By Joseph Sabo on 5/10/2016

The lessons are good but I have an issue with the way they are presented. The presenter uses an electronic white board which makes it very hard to follow and to take notes rather than a clear and typed presentation. I would highly recommend switching the presentation to a typed, bullet form and clear to read presentation rather than the hand written, all over the place current version.
