As a beginner to proofreading, the course has enlightened me. I am not much of a lover of the English language; hence, had difficulty knowing the difference between American and British. This course has given me a good level of understanding. The only challenge I had was, initially with the professor's accent, which got better over time. Secondly, I think it would be better if the volume of his voice could be increased. Thank you.

Such a wonderful piece of learning with details and engaging content . I knew that I have good language mastery but I didn't know if I could Graduate to becoming a Proofreader slowly and gradually. More than anything else I received a lot of confidence from the instructor to get ready for the new challenge coming my way. I hope I am able to face it when I see something coming my way this week.

I loved this course. It has revived my love for learning and made me feel much more confident in my proofreading skills. The information in this course was very clear, as well as straight forward, easy to understand, and informative. Alex Zimny's tone of voice when teaching was captivating and enjoyable to listen to. He also spoke at the perfect speed; not too fast or too slow. I could tell he is passionate about editing and proofreading. Thank you for this amazing experience.

It's a great course to start with as a beginner. An advanced proofreader also has access to refreshing contents worth reviewing over again. Great tools were introduced to the student, which leaves such with a solid backup in his/her freelancing or career choice. T.J. Walker and co. did a good job on this. Kudos

This course was extremely helpful. I was especially grateful for its detailed inclusion of the differences between UK and US spelling as that is something I've struggled with often in the past. The exercises were challenging yet enlightening and the advice for freelancing is much appreciated. It would have been nice to have a little more information regarding punctuation, but overall it was a fantastic course.

For a proofreading course I think there should have been more proofreading exercises and more resources. As it was, there were only a handful of both. Those four lessons on confusing words could have been consolidated into one and certainly no more than two. Plus, I didn't find their suggestions for remembering them to be all that useful since they applied many of the same suggestions to multiple words.

This course encouraged me in that I was on the right track with my editing and proofreading skills. I found the section on preparing to edit very helpful, and I am already implementing changes in how I proofread. I also found the UK vs. US spellings to be beneficial. The greatest benefit to me was actually the quizzes that you had to test my knowledge. I'd recommend adding more practice quizzes so that we can work more on our editing skills. Also, the punctuation section could use some expansion. Thanks for the course!

The course did not match the description given online. I expected more information/depth in the topics of what to look for when proofreading and/or editing. How much freelance proofreaders make, is of no interest to me. I was disappointed on the lack of explanation as to why/ why not examples were right or wrong. There also was lack of direction for the quizzes. What was I to look for? What was expected. Alex touched on passive voice vs active voice but there was no expansion on the topic. This was something I was hoping to learn more about. Because of his accent, Alex was difficult to understand.

I live in India and have been struggling with the differences in spelling between UK and US English words. We are taught UK English in school, but, once we start working; we need to use a lot of US English. The reason being, a lot of work is outsourced to India from the US. This course has helped provide a lot of clarity on the different spellings used. I had a really good time attending the course.

I am finding it really useful. When doing the quiz I would have loved it if we had been given both the English and American versions so when we got something wrong we knew what it should have been. Thank you. I have finished the course and it was a great peek into proofreading, more examples of texts to correct would have been welcome. It was handy when you gave us the wrong text and then we could download it work on it and then also see the corrections. A lot more of those would be a great help. Overall, I enjoyed Alex's style of teaching. Thank you Alex.
