It is just a continuation and builds up on the previous courses. Can you take it separately without the other ones, you can if you are more proficient however for a person who wants to learn the language i would highly recommend to follow up with the previous ones

I forgot everything I learned from highschool Spanish class almost 20 years ago. I picked up a few words here and there with Duolingo. This course helped me to remember, if not learn everything about conjugation in an easy to retain way. Paired with comprehensible input videos, my comprehension improved greatly. I had my first real conversation in Spanish the other day and was complimented. My friends who never heard me speak it before were surprised and thought I was intermediate.

Excellent instruction, that leads you to master fundamentals of the language. Not a huge amount of vocabulary but you get drilled in the essentials. I was able to use what I learned effectively on a trip to Malaga after the first 6 levels.

I am the living proof that this course works, went from no spanish to fluent in 6 months (with 20'/day) thanks to el metodo.... this works and this guy is a genius. God bless you for coming into my life, I could not be happier with the outcome.

This course has helped me lift my Spanish to another level. It is easy to use and gives a good amount of repetition to ensure learning is retained. I really like to feature to change the speed.

If you're looking for something fancy, you're not going to find that here. What this professor gives you is a method (Title: El Metodo go figure) that allows you to learn Spanish faster. It's very interesting how he does this and to me it takes someone who has a natural knack to teach this way. I liked how he'd smoothly throw in past lessons in another lesson to keep you up to par amongst many other subtle things in the program that keeps things sticking. My tip while taking this course is to watch movies in Spanish (you pick what type of subtitles you want) with the intention of seeing how much you understand to reinforce what you have already learned. I've bought or enrolled in many of the "highly rated" online courses and this one takes it for me when it comes to learning and speaking the language sooner. The other language courses (Duolingo, RocketSpanish, Pimsleur, even Baselang) didn't give me the confidence of speaking Spanish right away. Side note: NewsInSlowSpanish was a great beginner course as well, but I'd probably do that after completing the El Metodo beginner course first. Anyways, I live and work in an area with predominantly Spanish speaking people and while attending this course I found myself brave enough to start speaking Spanish to people. Today I have finally completed the course utilizing the method they recommended and am excited to see what other courses they come up with next. I am a forever student of the El Metodo for sure!

This course is so easy to listen to on walk, or while doing other activities that do not require thinking. It has helped me with ny speaking. The repetition helps with less overthinking the grammar before speaking. I have completed the first three intermediate courses and just started the fourth one. I so wish Peter and Jessica have some advanced courses coming up.
