Adam Frisbee's course is a short, exam-ordered walk through Splunk Enterprise administration. The first six sections follow the exam objectives: admin basics, licensing, configuration files, indexes, user management and authentication. The rest covers getting data in, forwarders, distributed search, inputs and parsing. It runs 68 lectures and about 4.4 hours, and it was last updated in May 2026. The requirements are basic Linux and installing software, so it fits someone who already touches Splunk.
Reviewers like the pace. Videos are short, there is little filler, and the structure tracks the exam blueprint. One student found it more useful than the certified study guide book, and another passed with it plus a few outside practice exams. The complaints are consistent too. Several say it is light on detail, with simple configurations and one demo per topic, and one reviewer flags a licensing point as wrong. The practice test has questions graded incorrectly. A few people report missing resource files, and one says the instructor never answered in the Q&A.
With 42,701 students and roughly nine in ten ratings at four or five stars, it works well as a first pass or a refresher. It is not enough alone. Plan on extra practice papers and Splunk's own material, since the reviewers who struggled on exam day point to gaps in depth. It is cheap and short, so the risk is low. Take it for structure and speed, then fill the holes elsewhere.

Just excellent how this course follows each and every section of the Splunk Test Blueprint Enterprise Admin exam. Very well organized. I like that the videos are short and capture most of the relevant information.
Listed as All Levels, but it assumes basic Linux and software installs, and newcomers say some topics are not explained well enough.

It's a bit light on details and incorrect in some places like licensing (search is blocked when you are in violation). I passed the exam today but only because I did a lot of practice papers in the run up which covered the gaps from this course. Also I didn't get the impression the instructor actually understood splunk and how forwarders search heads and indexers interacted. he was much keener talking about ancillary things like LDAP DN's etc which aren't required for the exam.

As a person who works in Splunk alot this was a wealth of information needed to take better control of the various environments I work in. I'm confident I can pass the test but better yet I'm confident enough to dive in building out a Splunk environment!

well its a bit insightful, though not fully satisfactory; I expect the tutor/author to include a wider example' for instance, in the forward management, I would have expected example taken from clustered environments. The author needs to do more to be detailed. That way, students can get a deep insights of what is being taught. However, it's fair to say, its quite an experience

Impressive! Easy to follow. Lesson are broken down and taught so well that one can easily understand. Quizzes at the end of each lecture help validate what one has learnt and recollect what one might have missed up mixed up. The instructor takes his time to explain in detail. Great job!

I enjoyed the course very much. I wish the instructor would go in more details on how to search and parse data to the search head. It would be nice to walk students through on how to search for specific data when troubleshooting an issue. Overall good course.

Was a good course, sometimes a bit too many words to describe certain aspects but overall clear and precise. The demos were nice but sometimes the easier approach was taken. I would love to see both the harder approaches covered in the theory. Example, I would have loved to see a demo using transforms.conf . There are other examples where an easier approach was taken and not recommended in the work place. Aside from this the course was great and I will definitely recommend it and going over the topics again. Thank you Adam for creating this course.
