The EU AI Act Compliance Masterclass 2026 (Udemy.com)
The Ultimate Guide For Businesses and Professionals To Comply With The EU AI Act

Our take
Based on the ratings of 15,339 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in March 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short overview of the EU AI Act: 14 lectures in seven sections, about two hours in total. It covers what the Act is, the risk tiers, general purpose AI, a process flow and governance. Taimur Ijlal comes from cybersecurity and fintech risk, not law, so expect a practitioner's briefing rather than legal analysis. The requirements ask only for basic AI knowledge, which fits. It was last updated in March 2026, so the material should be reasonably current for a fast-moving regulation.
Reviewers like the delivery. They call Taimur direct and informal, say he cuts through the dry regulatory text, and praise the real-world examples. Roughly 88 percent of the 15,000 or so ratings are four or five stars. The complaints are consistent, though. Some say the first 15 to 20 minutes is slow, and one reviewer felt it promoted the instructor's own website. Others found the slides dry, a few points repeated, and the detail generic. There are no quizzes, no downloadable slides, and auto captions sometimes cover the slides.
As a first pass it is good value for a paid course with this many students. One reviewer put it as something to brush through before serious preparation, and that is the right way to use it. Anyone who has to implement the Act, draft documentation or advise clients will need deeper material afterward. For managers, security people and curious professionals, it gets the structure into your head in one sitting.
Pros
- Short enough to finish in one sitting: 14 lectures and about two hours
- Reviewers praise Taimur's informal, direct style that cuts through dry regulation
- Clear walk through the risk tiers with real-world examples, per reviewers
- Updated in March 2026, with a section on general purpose AI
Cons
- High level only. Several reviewers found parts generic and wanted the Act's detailed requirements
- The opening 15 to 20 minutes is called slow and repetitive, with some self-promotion
- No quizzes or assignments, no downloadable slides, and captions can cover the slides
Taimur has a great informal and engaging delivery style which keeps you interested.
Listed for all levels, but it suits non-lawyers with basic AI knowledge who want orientation, not legal depth.

Provides clear, simple overview of various risks in developing and deploying AI systems. Niche knowledge. Not otherwise available in general.

Sometimes the auto text of the speеch is covering the slides which I don't like. Role plays need for a trainee to have some practice, as what is presented is not really enough if you are just beginning with this matter. Otherwise the course is very good and lecturer obviously know the subject very well.

Great quick learning course on the EU AI Act. Instructor is direct and highlights key points despite the boring nature of the regulatory rules. One thing that can make the course better would be to have the slides or notes available for download so I could focus on listening and understanding rather than writing notes.

Yes, wanted to know about AI EU Act and provides a good basic understanding on why
By Ove Mo on 6/17/2026
Yes, it was a good match. It was a bit quick, but it works well as long as you give it your full attention, :-)
By Federico Grecuccio on 5/21/2026
Useful high level overview. Missing some core understanding over critical infrastructure and safety components and practical mitigation aside the current rewording of the text from the law.
By Lubomir Blahovsky on 4/24/2026
The case studies and role play additions are great. The content visuals and prsentations was dry. I did ended up focused until the end but only because AI is my passion. People who will "have to" take some courses for career related things, might drop after section 2.
