A bit about me:
Prior to becoming an instructor, I worked in technology consulting for over a decade. In that role, I helped a range of clients in industries from automotive to consumer goods transform their business needs into robust technical solutions. I’ve assumed many titles during that time, but I’m primarily interested in cloud data & software engineering!
As a consultant, I’ve had to move from project to project, which always brings with it the necessity and opportunity to learn. This is one aspect of my job that I've always loved: picking up new technologies, learning their ins and outs and delivering a creative and practical solution.
I’ve worked with early big data systems like Cloudera, Hortonworks, HBase and Spark, and more recently streaming & cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services, Apache Kafka and Snowflake. I’ve been fortunate enough to earn:
- the AWS Certified Developer Associate certification,

I think the hands-on sections could give a bit more in-depth explanations of what the code is doing, I felt like it went a little fast. I also think the hands-on could include some opportunities for students to attempt to write some SQL themselves. With everything written out in advance it was hard for me to really understand what the code was doing.

So far this is brilliant. I'm loving how exhausting the information is. I'm having to constantly pause to take notes. This is going to take me a long time to get through all of this but I need to understand all of this so well that I could could teach it.

The presentation materials and the instructor's descriptions for this course are accurate and concisely prepared. I believe note-taking is very easy. I strongly feel that the instructor has put a lot of thought into how to progress through the course content and the techniques used to convey knowledge. It can be said that this course is optimized for creating materials that can later serve as your own cheat sheet.

Mr. Bailey is very knowledgeable on the subjects, and he presents them in a very digestible way. Every time I start to question a topic, he almost immediately addresses it in his lecture. I feel as though I've gotten a well-rounded understanding of SQL with Snowflake. Couldn't recommend this course more!

It is Good and useful for beginners but observed 2 things for the keyword usage 'AT'. Can you please revisit is that correctly placed. What I understood is instead of AS, placed AT. 1) Section 5: Quiz 4, Question 7 - AT can use rename column of OUTPUT, is that correctly placed for this specific query? 2) Section 7: Quiz 6, Question 9 - 1st Multiple choice mentioned AT but there is no keyword AT in query of question.

I come from an advertising/marketing background and have no prior data analysis or coding experience. I liked how this course was broken into 2-7 minute videos, so it wasn’t too overwhelming even though all the concepts were new to me. The Snowflake application was also interesting, as I’ve never been in that kind of platform before. The hands-on videos with movie data examples were helpful in illustrating the SQL functions. Overall, the course sections all flowed together and it was easy to see how the lessons built upon each other. Since I am a complete beginner, I got lost with some terminology and had to do outside research on a few concepts (schema? data warehouses vs. lakes vs. databases?). This course definitely covered a lot, and next I'll find some resources to practice and actually write my own queries.

I haven't finished the course completely, but from what I'm seeing so far is a great course for those trying to learn SQL but in the context of modern analytics tools. The instructor uses Snowflake which is perfect for me as a Data/Software/Platform Engineer as its very popular in the industry. It gives me great foundational and advanced knowledge for using SQL in these contemporary data environments, especially as someone who hasn't used Snowflake before. The instructor also provides us relevant additional content, and clear instructions to run your own Snowflake environment on the Cloud I've given this a solid rating of 5 out of 5 stars, because of the USP of "SQL in modern analytics tools" and the clear cut content and communication the instructor explains with. I would highly recommended this course for data professionals seeking to enhance their analytical skills in SQL.

I haven't finished the course yet but am really enjoying it and learning a lot. The use of SQL for newer analytical tools is important to me as this will help with my upcoming work. The presenter is clear and concise with how they deliver information and I would recommend this to anyone who needs to use SQL for tools like BigQuery or Snowflake etc.

I'm really enjoying this SQL course so far. I'm enjoying that this doesn't just cover the basic and advanced aspects of SQL but puts it into context by teaching about OLTP and OLAP too. The variety will give me a solid understanding of different use cases and makes me feel more confident about the future projects I can work on. The Snowflake and analytics content is super helpful for learning modern cloud-based data warehousing. I like how each section flows logically into the next, building on what you’ve just learned, so it never feels disjointed. The visuals are slick and easy to follow, and Thomas' voiceover is professional and well spoken. I haven't finished the course yet, but it’s been great so far!

A great course on all things SQL so far. Content is presented concisely, in an easy-to-understand manner with diagrams and code examples. Currently taking it to help with job interviews - really appreciate the more advanced content that's been included - and enjoying the introduction to Snowflake which I've heard a lot about!
