Leila Gharani's course takes Excel users from a first recorded macro to UserForms, events and Outlook automation. It is taught on Windows, and the requirements say Mac Excel does not fully support VBA. Basic Excel skills are enough, since no programming background is assumed. Yes i am able to learn Macros and VBA more nicely rather than just looking at the code and trying to understand it on my own as i never learned the basics and directly jumped on advance VBA codes

For me I am 82 this course is a refresh for my memory. As I did a lot of VBA programming during my working days in the nineties and the beginning of 2000. The amazing thing that in those days there was a lot of talk that it was outdated and MS would abandon it and replace it. Now we are about twenty five years later and it is still around -like me- and that all that in my eyes yuppie talk has gone. You can do in combination with Excel amazing things with it. I enclose an example of its power in a workbook that I will upload at notes. It is in Dutch and the subject is different depreciation methods and the economic life span of a machine. You can change the variables in one of the first sheets and if you click on the calculator in the diffent sheets you get a new calculation. The code is of course in English and when you click on Macro in the developer tab you can see the code in the different modules. As far as the teacher is concerned I did another course which was excellent and the start of this course is also very promising. She is amazing punctial.

As a beginner I can tell that some topics in some sections are difficult to understand. I can't realize myself which method should I choose and how can I imagine it. Without daily practice it is impossible to remember all of this. I see and listen explanations carefully but when it comes to practice activity I can't write correct code by myself. :-(

Really well-explained and easy to follow The course is very clear and well structured. Concepts are explained in a simple way, and there’s plenty of practice to actually apply what you learn. The course had a ton of content that guided you from the basics to advanced features, there is a lot to take in, so i would personally advise you to pause the videos regularly, digest all info and then moving on. As Leila also suggested, the more experience a user has with MS Excel in general, the more features of VBA they can unlock. Many thanks for this course, can't wait to apply everything i learnt to everyday projects!
