Welcome!
We never know when we will be faced with a medical emergency, often at the worst place and away from medical professional help. This course will teach you how to respond to multiple common outdoor medical emergencies. Here you will learn the steps to take if faced with injury to yourself or others. Providing immediate first aid treatment can be essential to reduce further injury to the patient and even death. Don't go into the outdoors until you are prepared to handle a medical emergency! Looking forward to seeing you in the class!
Thanks!

Jeremy White is a current survival instructor, teaching survival skills at schools near his home and travels to teach at camps for kids. Jeremy is an active outdoorsman and has completed many trips (sometimes by himself) into the wilderness and surviving for many days. His training includes with Search and Rescue, Sherif's Dept., and personally taught by a retired United States Air Force survival instructor.
To compliment his survival training, Jeremy has also learned many things about surviving from his extensive travels around the world. He has learned how to 'survive' in other countries (sometimes by himself) and found ways to travel free and cheap!
In June of 2015, Jeremy was struck with heart failure and is currently living on a mechanical heart, while he awaits a heart transplant. He is unable to work like he used to however during this time it has allowed Jeremy to put down on paper his skills and training for others to learn from. Also, due to his physical condition Jeremy seeks income from his Udemy course to pay bills and medical expenses. Jeremy would like to say a big thank you to all those choosing to purchase the class.

That course was excellent, and easy to follow even if you do not know first aid. Good structure, a steady pace, and lots of photo references! I recommend these courses to everyone who likes outdoor activities.

I don't know what I don't know and thus cannot say whether the section is sufficient. I think it is useful I would add "bonking" to this section -- where heat and overexertion can be remedied with some food (plus water & shade, foot elevation, etc.).

I think the transcript and sub titles need an editor to look at, there areseveral very strange edits and if you have to read them rather than listen to them it's a bit of a negative. Otehrwise the course is great!

I like where our teacher shows us rather than tells us. What does one do for snow blindness and sunburn and altitude sickness. We are made aware of the symptoms and causes but I am not sure about the first aid treatments. Thank you! You got a new heart!!! Yippee.

Good cover of topics and scenarios. I feel like it was a good refresher. Some of the slides moved quite quickly whilst I was reading. Pictures were good - probably the most real / graphic compared to a classroom delivery. Pace was a little slow in some of the commentary, the information however was concise and practical

It was very helpful. Not giving any false hopes to do miracles but very authentic and realistic guidance. I enjoyed learning. Thank you!

Although this course does not go into great detail its strengths are it is very clear , concise and good for making notes from as an introduction or useful preparation to maybe going on a practical course to obtain an official certificate (The typos that other viewers mention are very small and unimportant.) .

In some places, there were typos and/or the narration was a bit awkward. Overall, it was very useful and informative and gave specific outdoor examples with specific technique application that are not offered in a basic first aid course :)

This course is exactly what I was looking for. It is in depth and easy to follow. I feel prepared for most medical emergencies in the wilderness.

Really found the course very useful. Well-presented in a calm and practical manner. I have noted several valid points that I'm sure will come in handy in future. I have done first aid courses but it's always good to refresh and remind yourself of important tips. This course covers that and more. Although we don't have quite the wilderness area in the UK that the US does, many of the points are relevant regarding holiday destinations and outdoor pursuits. Really worth the time doing this and made me think about updating my skills as well as my first aid kit!
