"What an amazing course! After finishing this course, I have confidence. Thank so much Dr Peter Alkema" ... "This is exactly the jump-start I needed. Very clear and concise"
I lead Digital Transformation & Architecture at ABB and I've been featured on CNBC Africa and won the Gartner CIO Of The Year in 2016. I founded and led the largest banking hackathon in South Africa which was published in 2019 as a case study by Harvard Business School.
I've taught over 100,000 students about technology, business, academics and self-development. In 2020 I completed my PhD at Wits University In Johannesburg. The study introduced a ground-breaking theory of Agile software development teams. My woodworking book was published in 2014 and has sold over 10,000 copies.
Olugbenga Gbadegesin: "Excellent delivery" / Lebogang Tswelapele: "This is what I have been longing for" / Paskalia Ndapandula: "Peter speaks with so much clarity" / Amantle Mangwedi: "It was straight to the point and the sections are cut into nice short segments which made it easier to go through" Kathy Bermudez: "Excellent material. Well organized..."
Werner van Wyk: "Thank you Peter, once again your lesson and course have given me so much knowledge and understanding" / Yvonne Rudolph "I really look forward to take everything i learned in action" / Josephine Mahlangu: "exactly what I needed to know, absolutely valuable and helpful for my personal growth"

great learning and resources that accompany it

the slides are incomplete and the quizzes are not based on slides but on what she talks. it would help if you made the slides more explicit with the talks. you are making the slides too intuitive. it would help if you made them very explicit.

Some video of windows up on presenter's screen were cut off, making some potentially valuable visible content unviewable for added context around discussion. Additionally, presenter entered state of confusion over why syntax of chosen examples was not working & inevitably leading to errors, reason being that code was dependent on files existing on system at known path- which should have been accomplished to ensure demonstrability of concepts.

I am MD, PhD, Pathologist. Nowadays pathology is becoming digital and diagnostics as well as therapy options are based on algorhytms. My insight is that there will be no diagnostics without machine learning in a couple of years.

The teacher does a great job in explaining the information in small steps but i'm having a hard time to understand some of the words that are being said because of the pronounciation of the teacher. The automated subtitles are also inaccurate. I feel like the quizzes are rushed and incomplete, they don't add alot to the course, sometimes ask untreated knowledge and have grammatical mistakes.

Yes, it was a good match for me. I can niow see that I will learn how machine can be made to learn from new data. This can be applied in my agricultural field where situations are contently changing but they have trends, for example weather and seasons.

Good day Shamiela , from Durban , South Africa here !! I am currently up at 00:30 AM , stumbled across the course yesterday and told myself why not ? I love how there is challenges especially for a first time. I admire and encourage added skills , it may come in handy at any given time. Looking forward to may more lessons. Cheers x

I have always wanted to get a glimpse of what data science is and this course has helped to achieve that. the facilitator was really helpful and made me understand what seemed to be complex coding. I have really enjoyed this course very much and I can't wait to use the coding skills I have acquired in my future career. Overall the course was a good match for me and i really appreciate the opportunity.
By Yosef Hamba Tola on 4/18/2022
Indeed, it is amazing course and I assure you that I will enjoy all the course contents. My background is biological science, Genetics. I deal with big data for metagenome analysis. This course would be very important resource for my career in metagenome analysis and interpretation.

Yes, I think it will help me put together some aspects of Technology-enhanced Learning pieces of puzzle that I have learnt here and there, I analysed my Data using Rumm Software as a statistical measure model, I asked my fellows to assist me but still i THINK THIS COURSE WILL HELP ME INTEROGATE HOW THE MODEL IS ABLE TO GIVE RELIABLE ASSESSMENTS
